SLP at OSW

I got there later but was unable to bring the Z28.. It was awesome seeing all those F bodies in one place. Lots of nice Z06's also. I got some video clips but I'm still trying to figure out how to get them on the computer. Got some of the video of the vette that hit the wall also from behind the start line.

i got some pics of the event on pgs 7 & 8 on my cardomain site. http://members.cardomain.com/predatorbird i left right after that vette smashed the wall. i tried to run over and get pics of it, but they got the car off the track real quick and out of OSW. i would be crying if i was him, that thing was running high 10's.

Yes that was a pity. I wonder how the insurance claim is filed for such an incident. I would think that OSW must make out some kind of report so you probably can't tell the ins. co some BS story as to why your car was found all smashed up??

I was there from about 10:45 until around 7ish. Great event. I had a great time watching the bracket racing eliminations. The only guy I know on here that got very far is Eric (MustangEater82). He beat either 4 or 5 cars before he broke out and was eliminated. Everyone there didn't cheer loud enough for Brett Downs (the broke college kid) in the burnout contest. He fried his posi and his tires and only managed third place . Oh well, I screamed my head off for ya bro! to the Z!

after i got in i didn't take any pics... i TRIED to get a pic of this cute asian chick with a trans am. when she bent down to check her tire pressure her g-string shot way out... she had a crowd behind her, no joke.

the 2 pics i did take inside were of this because i was both scared and amused... kind of was hoping for some sort of explosion:

Overall I am not glad I went. This is what I found was wrong with the event:

1. SLP Discount Sucked I am sorry 15% I have seen that coupon online.. I was insulted...

2. I called OSW to get clarification on the helmets and no mention was ever offered they might rent them even when I asked!!!

3. Lack of a second concession stand...

4. I did not like how the spectator area was so far away from the car show section.. There was a ton of room we could have all be closer. I realize it was for “traffic reasons” but it could have been better.

5. I did not care for a lack of other attractions, possibly a dyno or two like OSW has had before or drag racing slot cars, something else..

6. I did not care for the attitude of the BF Good Wrench display person…

7. The bathrooms stunk worse than anything else I could have ever imagined.. Come on rinse them out.

8. They could have handed out a price sheet with the rest of the stuff when you came in.

The racing was nice, but do I feel customer appreciation no.. Will I buy anything SLP has to offer well, I do not feel their sales technicians did anything to make me want to. Will I go next year, if I have time to kill yes, but if anything else comes up I do not feel this event was setup correctly for me to continue blindly supporting it.
I think someone needs a nap. Did you forget that you paid nothing to get in? You can usually expect to pay $20 for an event like they put on today.
I had fun no matter what anyone says.

You are talking about my girl Kristi-anna here. Sorry, she wasn't wearing a G-string, thats false advertisement from her pants...Yes she is extremely hot, and she drives a TA and has a second gen Z28 she is making a full out strip car. She is a dream for any car guy, lol.
I enjoyed myself today and got a wicked sunburn as usual. I will hopefully get some pics up tomorrow

I had a great time other than the heat. I spent way too much money. Thanks to Kisle for the tires and Jason for the drilled rotors.

I didn't get a lot of pics but here are a few including the yellow Z06 that went into the guardrail at 100+ mph:

i wasn't too impressed w/ the discount either. i was hopeing to pick up a set of the bilstein shocks/struts if the price was good. since i paid nothing to get in and only had to drive 15 min, i can't complain about anything. i had a lot of fun there and it was nice hearing all v8, throaty exhausts all day instead of tin cans. does anyone have any better pics of the vette that smashed the wall? i didn't make it over in time to get pics myself. i think the owner got it out pretty quick to avoid that.

Okay Free to watch I think I have seen as good paying 10 bucks to watch ona normal test/tune night.... It was nice you were able to get closer to the track though so one plus....

I just think I would rather pay and get a better event than this… I really was hugely disappointed and the discount was an insult. Events like this you try to sell cheap to spread word of mouth… It is not like they are doing one every week, a few across the county a year they can afford to just break even on an item or two…. Plus the whole moving to the mustang thing just made me hate it more… I do understand they need to move to the stang and compacts since the general killed the fbody, but I also think their prices are outrageous and not worth it.. IMO

So overall all thumbs down!!!!! If I were to go next year I would like to see:

Magazine Project Cars like Chevy High Performance, GM High Tech, High Performance Pontiac, Some famous racers/engine builders speaking on things, possibly a DYNO or two, some slot car drag racing for cheesy items like a SLP chrome decal or letter opener, What about some car racing video games to kill some time, a hot babe contest, a audio contest, a better car show!!!!!
