ses codes and questions (HELP!)

Took the time to put my car on a Snap On code finder the other day. Two problems. First, MAF burn off not working and the second, fuel pump voltage to low. Basicly, my car is going into limp mode. ( and still rips em loose through 2nd ) What am I to do, If I start the car it stumbles real bad and then idles high (thats when it goes into limp mode) I had replace the MAF burnoff and the ses went out for about 5 min than it came back on, once agian the MAF burrn off was bad. I need to get my car out of limp mode and running right. Also, when its hard to start there's a lot of gas comming out of the pipes.
Also, I've already posted this in third gen tech but it's not getting any hits and I could really use some help.

Look at it a different way. Your sensor may not be 'bad' again. It may have not been bad before. A code gets thrown when a sensor indicates an abnormal reading. This can either be because of a bad sensor or the sensor is correctly indicating an abnormal condition.

I don't know what a MAF burnoff is. But try to think of what could be causing the sensor to give an abnormal reading, what is this sensor monitoring and what would cause it to be askew.

MAF burnoff= Mass Air Flow burnoff. I replaced the relay but to no avial was the problem fixed. Basicly what it does is heat the elements inside the mass air flow sensor up real hot to burn off any debris that may get cought on the wires.

what year MAF is that in? seems like that'd be the perfect solution to the K&N oil problem

The car is a 1987 IROC-Z. And yes, K&N's are going in ASAP! Just need to get her out of limp mode.
