Question about college & transfer credits
Question about college & transfer credits
Posted this in the lounge as well but I know a lot of people in here go to UCF and thought you may know better
Are there any colleges that will let you graduate if all you need from their college is 3 classes? I currently go to UCF and have an opportunity to relocate but I still have 3 classes I need to graduate. I know at UCF you have to take at least 30 or 60 credit hours or something like that from UCF to get a degree from them.
Any colleges that don't require that, maybe online schools like University of Phoenix or something? I did a little searching but can't find anything.
Thanks

Re: Question about college & transfer credits
I think you're referring to the residency requirement.
I know most schools won't let you transfer in if you only need like 3-4 classes to graduate because they want you to take more than that, which makes sense to me.
As far as those schools like DeVry, ITT, FMU, Keiser, etc. I'm not sure what their policy is, but if I were you, I'd finish at UCF instead of transferring to a less reputable school. That's just my personal opinion.

Re: Question about college & transfer credits
Yeah, that is what I am leaning towards. I knew this opportunity was coming but didn't think it was going to be for a while so when they threw it at me and didn't know what to say and wanted to see what my options were.
Re: Question about college & transfer credits
No, classes I need are not offered online. This is what I found out in case anyone else is intersted in this:
You can take a class at any "regionally accredited school". However, if it's regionally accredited AND AACSB accredited, the likelihood of the class being accepted by UCF is very good. Just regionally accredited, pretty good, just AACSB accredited, not so good, but possible.
Second, it's possible to petition to take your final three classes outside
of UCF (other colleges have the equivalent of Capstone, usually called some
sort of strategy class). However, if you did that and the course
transcripts didn't get to UCF in time, you'd have to get re-admitted, take a
1 hour course back at UCF, then graduate when that was completed (because
you have to be an active student to graduate from UCF).
