Pics of my new car

I posted this in the appearance section, but in case you don't go in there I just wanted to post pics of my new car . Any comments/suggestions on mods would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Erik

Thumbs up Re: Pics of my new car

Wow.

Congrats on the car, it looks awesome. What's that yellow thing on the top of the steering column? The clear lid looks cool too.

Thanks. The yellow thing I will probably take off-just haven't decided if I want to yet or not. It's just a shift light-I have to find out when he has the light set to go off-I put it in first and took it up to redline and the light didn't go off (but it works b/c when you start the car it comes on). I've also heard of people mounting them behind on of the a/c vents which might be sort of cool. Right now the car is in my garage under my California Car cover-I'm probably going to try and get a beater to keep miles of this car. I get stoked though whenever I drive it-its a blast

Great looking car. And I'm a big fan of the black sail pannel. Makes our cars look better when they are like that. Good luck with it.

Question Re: Pics of my new car

So how does a H/C LS1 plus all the other mods. you have on it compare to a stock or close to stock LS1? Does it pull harder throughout the entire powerband or just up top? How is it on gas so far? A friend of a friend's has H&C and can bark the tires at 70 MPH, can yours do that?

One of my brothers has a 99 SS and the other one had a 01SS. Both of those felt sort of slow to me (but were obviously pretty fast) but I was used to the torque in the LT1 and those didn't feel fast until the top end. If I drive this car slow and just accelerate normal it probably drives like a normal LS1 but a little faster-but if I punch it you get thrown back in your seat.

I probably drive the car a lot easier then the average person (mainly b/c I have way to much crap on my driving record), but I was out with my brother the other day & he was driving my car-even with the ASR on it chirped the tires around 70-80. No matter how fast your going, since the car has a stall on it if you just punch it you will get thrown back into your seat. With this set up the car dynoed at 475 hp and 385 to the wheels-a little upgrade from the 285 flywheel hp in my TA.

Edit: Anthony, I know I mentioned that a guy who is a co-owner at Texas Speed and performance owned the car. Look at page 4 at the bottom, it's a picture that he took at an SLP customer appreciation day at Texas Motorplex in 2002.

Wow, a truly bad *** car. I wouldn't change a thing about it. I have pretty much the identical exhaust set up on my car - I love how it sounds open or closed.

Re: Pics of my new car

CONGRATS! I love that car!

Ive even used pics off their website as my desktop before. I figure it must be the same car. Too cool. Can't wait to see it.

PS - If you ever want to flog that beast out, let one of us autocross guys show you how to do it without fear of prossecution. I'd love to get more than one SOM SS out there.

BTW - we should get together and let the kidss play sometime seeing as we both live in WS. You're back off Tuskawilla right? I think you gave me a set of TA wheels way back when.

Yeah, next time you have an autocross event let me know-I would at least like to go take a look at what goes on. Yeah, I was the one that gave you those TA wheels so I'm right off Tuskawilla road.
