OSW Tonight...

I know its real last minute, but a few of my buddys and myself are headed out to the track tonight for Midnight Street Drags...Just giving a heads up for anybody that is interested.

Also, battle of the household is taking place tonight at the track...my roomate in his SS w/the same mods as me thinks he's gonna take me down. Bragging rights at stake tonight.

Re: OSW Tonight...

Tonight was god awful...I know OSW is notorious for horrible track prep and spinning, but tonight was just plain scary. There was ABSOLUTELY ZERO TRACK PREP TONIGHT...NONE! I even saw a harley go down right off the line cause he spun too much and lost it.

My best run of the night was 13.5 @ 109 mph...pretty pathetic.
But of course, I ended up beating my roomate who couldn't even break into the 13's tonight...and he's got a damn strong car as well.

I left the line at 800 rpm's pretty much every time tonight and went up in smoke. At anything more than 1/3 throttle, the tires would break loose in 1st gear...My best 60' of the night was a 2.3 I even cut a few 2.5's. Not my usual 1.8's or 1.9's at speedworld.

On one run in particular, I actually got pretty sideways when I completely lost traction at the very top of 2nd gear and started banging off the rev limiter. Not really my idea of a good time.

I still got to spend the night in the company of good friends and fast cars, so I really can't complain.

Anyhow, next time out at the track I'll have my headers on, so hopefully I might be looking at a time slip with a new best on it.

Pretty much the same experience I had back in June. I've heard a rumor lately that they've decided to not prep the track on Wed anymore. Pretty soon it's going to be BYOVHT = Bring Your Own VHT.

Re: OSW Tonight...

My dad was out w/his car last night as well, and he had his Mickey Thompson ET Streets on w/about 14 pounds of pressure in 'em...and he was spinning those all night as well. It was just awful. It was still nice to see my car put down a 109 mph trap speed spinning most of the way down the track in ridiculously humid/warm air...at least I know the car is still runninig strong and isn't in the need for a tune up or anything.
