Question OSW question

Does OSW ever let you run with an open exhaust (IE: cutout)? I know you can't at the midnight drags but what about their afternoon races?

I didn't know you couldn't run with your cut-out open at the midnight drags? I know you can at wed and fri night, you can run open headers if you want. All you have to do is pass their very strict tech inspection

I've always run cutout wide open, at midnights and test & tunes. Never had a problem....

Are you serious? Guys are out there running w/o headers I bet (open engine?) well, at least it sounds like it.

Cars out there are LOUD, I'm talking bring earplugs loud, so I'm sure you will have no problems.

yeah, you can run pretty much anything...

I went maybe 6 months open y-pipe on my 3.4L daily driving and trips to the track.

The midnight drag things I think is to keep the cars street legal, to make it more exciting, instead of trailer queens obliterating everyone, or that its so late at night.

Only reason some tracks have those rules is people that live near by not likeing the noise.

That's what i figured. I live right by Englishtown up in NJ and we have to be muffled by 10:30 most of the time.

Are you referring to that dark gold RX-7? I saw him run on 11/26 and that car was LOUD. Do you know what kind of engine he has?

If its not a rotary (you would know), most likely it will be a 350 swap. Do you know what gen RX-7 it is?? The 350 swap is comon in 2nd gen's (body is sorta like a 944).

Back to main topic. I've seen/heard many people run with open cut outs, so I doubt it will be a prob.

Just some food for thought, no one runs without headers You would have some major problems with your engine if you did. You always need some backpressure to help scavenge the cylinders, even if it's just the small amount from running headers. Ever notice that even top fuel runs with headers? Just letting you know

I've seen alot of 1st and 2nd gen RX7s there, and they are VERY, VERY loud. They didn't have 350 swaps, either, that was the rotary making all that noise. BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!
