OSW: A bunch of F'ing theives!
Ok, I've only ran my car twice before. I get out there tonight and I enter to run. $15 dollars, its a bit steep, but I pay it same as everyone else. The man at tech check told me I needed a helmet. I didnt know this, I never used a helmet before, and nobody advised me to do so after my runs. He told me to go back to the ticket shack and she world refund me my 5 bucks. I get down there and she tells me "tough luck no refunds" We had a heated discussion for a few seconds which ended in some furious LS1 tire smoke. Im not going back there (until SLP day which is free).
****ing Theives
****ing Theives
I F*CKING AGREE 100%
we hit a rain delay before 8:30 PM, ok its raining, they announce our tickets will be a rain check if we stop for the night.
Around 8:45, they let maybe 3-4 cars go then it rains again and they tell us no rainchecks.
traction was sh|t again, they been pretty good since they jacked the price to $15, but I was pulling 2.3-2.4 60" when I average 2.0XX, with spin I hit 2.1XX.
The our a bunch of ****ing thieves, I hope they die of ghonarhea and rot in hell...
Once again, didn't get to the tech guy to nearly 6:30, when I was in line at 5:30 waiting to go in and watching them open the gates, LATE as usual.
Sorry to hear about the bullsh|t they gave you with money and helmet. They never used to say anything, now they do.

Damn that realy sucks man. At what point do they make you wear a helmet, 12.99 and below??
I say the next time anyone there says to get a refund, make sure they write a note. That is just a bunch of BS. If they were gona be asses liek that, They should atleast have a good track to make up for it, but that track is crap, but its the only thing nearby.
I hear Bradenton is good, any one been there?

I have been saying that for years. They do not call the night because they cant bear to lose that income, yet on the best night of the year they close because it is too cold?!?!? They raise their prices and dont tell you til you have waited in line and get to the money stand. They charge $2 for hotdogs they get for $1 a pack at Costco. Then they enforce rules randomly when it suites them. You are supposed to have that helmet if you are in the 13s, or so they informed me one night after I paid as well. So I told them I only hit 13s with NOS and I wont run with it tonight. I did not have NOS but he did not check and I ran mid 13s all night without being kicked off in a convertible. With my TA I was in the 13s from the day I bought it but they never said a word. Like I said, only when it suits them. I cary a helmet always now. You never know.
The track prep sucks, there are too many morons running bull****, driving through the water in totally stock Corollas with Tiempo tires($100 for 4 mounted and balanced), Starlets with no suspension and Rotary engines hitting the wall or blowing up on almost every run. They should be talking to them, but again it is the almighty dollar that prevails. People walking around the staging lanes slopping drunk with a beer in each hand then jumping in their 11 second cars and lining up. THe dollar again prevails. But yet they kick you off for not having a helmet, knowing not to run through the water without drag tires, running a safe car, and sober, after they take your money. AGAIN the almighty dollar prevails. They should have tech (or so they call it) before you pay. That way you can decide if you still want to enter. But there's that dollar again. I used to say, maybe they will wake up when someone dies, but that has happened allready because they let them run with too strong of a headwind and his car when airborne. Obviously they needed the money that night too.
Sorry about the rambling
We need to organize a trip to Bradington. Hell it has to be better than running 3 times for $15 or if you are lucky 4 times.

I knew there was a reason I hadn't been out there in over a year. Now I remember why...
That place is soo poorly run its sickening. Gates open 30min late, tech is complete joke, dont even get me started on their "Sunday Funday we-rip-you-off days"
Every single auto-x event I've attended has been organized 1000x better and its all done by volunteers!!! I would have hoped OSW would have gotten their act together following the Grebeck incident but I guess not. But of course they have no incentive to do so, as long as they're raking in the cash from the ricers I'm sure they could care less.
I heard a rumor that the lease on that property expires relatively soon. Anyone know if thats true? If so hopefully someone who gives a damn will take over at that point.

I have heard the same things about the lease too, maybe it will be run better later.
I too have heard a rummor about their lease going wiht in the next 2 years I think it was.
The other part of the rummor is that there are some home builders looking at the site for homes. But there are only rummors and I pay no attention to them.
I normaly go to the track as a spectator, and I ahve not been ther eat all since I got my Z28.
I used to go with my RX-7 but only ran it a few times. No use in running a slow car, I had my G-techand an empty street to test my mods on it.
Hmm now that I think of it I might want to see what the G-tech will give me in my Z. I know its not entirely accurate, but curiosity gets its way alot.
BTW, Love the "tiempo tire" comment LMAO. Quote from Gangsters on the Simpsons: "Its funny Cus its true"

You should email them this post.... I have no problem with 15 or 20 if:
1. I get four runs
2. No bikes on Friday
3. No jr dragster or any other crap
4. Posted prices before you pull in
5. More lighting in the pit area
6. Better track prep
7. Better crowd control.... Heck that alone might be worth 25...
What would be good is wednesday is import night and friday is domestic night...

Actually I think they woudl make a killing if they opened up Mondays, and ran M, W, and F. Drop the price to $10 so you get mroe repeat people, and prep the freaking track.
I would pay $15, if the track prep as good, the times I raced on Dec, and Jan, I had superb prep, but tonight was jsut crap, they would let the fast guys run, then street, bikes, not prep and start over.
And at least be consistent with your safety standards, and higher a cop, jsut to walk around the staging lanes.

What I liked back in Indiana is everyone paid, came in and parked in the pits.. Had to get a teck inspection the got their number... On open nights normal Cars ran, Saturday was for the pro's and big boys...
Back home again in indiana they pay 25.. But for 25 the facility is much better. 5:00 gates open and 5-6 is tech... Not in tech by 6 sorry your a spectator...
They can also post a sign with how you can voulenteer or help out to keep prices down or make the event better...
Get a car club together and if they run the conession stand and timmings for free they get in next time to run for free... No labor costs more money...

Ya, you guys should come out to BMS. A bit of a drive but it's a good track. Thurs. are 1320 where it's basicly a test and tune nite, and Sat. mornings from 9am-12pm. Good guys there too. While sometimes there may be alot of cars running out there, they get em' through the tree rather quickley. (unless a VW spits everything on the track) Also, there is no tech inspection that I know of. It's 10 to watch,15 to launch.
The last time I ran at a test and tune night at OSW was about 4 years ago. There was no tech inspection at all. If I decided to run again sometime, what all is required. My guess is that I would run low 13's. If someone who knows what they are doing ran my car, I'm sure it could get into the 12's.
Unless they decide to check that particular night, Tim, you need nothing. If they check you will need a helmet. Other than that, just show up with $15 cash for you and $10 for any passengers. Be sure to bring a cooler of beer and a lot of money to buy hotdogs. Drive through the water and get it all down the track for the next guys to spin through, rev your engine repedatively for no apparent reason and spin your tires in the staging lanes everytime you pull up getting stones and dirt all over the car behind you(nuless you have a FWD, I know you dont, just saying) and you will fit right in.
Oh yeah has anyone else noticed that they are down to only one port-O-let? Didnt they have several back when they only charged $10? Nothing like having to hold it while you are slamming the gears at 100mph because the line was too long.

Iknow what you mean about spinnning the tires in the staging lanes. I had a 40 year old drunk off his *** guy practicing launches in his 70s Grand Prix land yacht, nothgin like a 4,000 lbs. car launching at WOT behind your car when yours is off and stationary, under the control of a drunk redneck, and a god knows how ****ty vrake system.
They did used to hae more portalets.
