Re: Need Information on Biketoberfest Parking
Good luck parking. Pretty much hit or miss on Beachside. If I were you, I would just try the public parking garage on A1A. You have to pay, but it is close to everything, and fairly safe.
Easiest way to get around is to walk. Traffic up and down Main St is bike only, and a nightmare. Trust me. I worked as a medic in Daytona Beach for years, and navigating during the events is fun. The only way we did it was to break every traffic law from red lights to one ways to no parking. It was fun though. Bikers car be more help than anyone else when it is one of their own that is sick or hurt!
What are you looking to do? Post up for suggestions and when you will be here, and where you are staying!

I do not have any real agenda. This will be my first time. I plan on taking a folding chair and lots of water.
Can you give me a cross street for the garage on A1A?

Re: Need Information on Biketoberfest Parking
someone else can correct me,
coming south from Jax, but get I-95 at the LPGA Golf thing (17?)
and go down to the Ironhorse, big swap meet on left before you get to it.
OCC (mikey & Vinnie) were there last year?
paid $20 to park there, walk around for few hours.
lots of dealers, trailers, clothes, Wall of death, burnout contest,
repair/detail trailers.
the CORBIN trailer was there.
then creep thru traffic, go down, hang left to get on A1A by beach, and roll down there, it's a long ways, lots folks on tailgates, watching chicks on bikes, dudes on bikes, dudes and chicks on bikes, dudes on one wheel on a bike, dudes and chicks on a bike on one wheel. it's a rolling cruise there.
main street bike riding is slower than walking. that's just to see if your scoot will overheat
then get over to other side of Main street, along waterway, that's where major indy shop displays are.
WALK down main, it's worth it. most HUGE shops (think Jesse & OCC) will have a tent on Main.
then hit Speedway for test rides.

Re: Need Information on Biketoberfest Parking
Theres always lots of parking by the speedway too. But I would also recommend parking in the garage on A1A. Im still debating if Im going to even take my bike. Its too much sitting in traffic and sweating. Not all too fun. All the venders are by the speedway, and thats where you can do the test rides and see all the new bikes..
Re: Need Information on Biketoberfest Parking
There are 3 main areas for Biketoberfest.
You have the new, huge Harley Davidson complex just north of Daytona in Ormond Beach. The whole complex is called "Destination Daytona", and the dealership is just part of it. There's a hotel, shops and concert areas there as well. Foreigner is playing there Friday night, and ZZ Top is playing there Saturday night. It's located where I-95 and US-1 cross. Just down the road to the south is the famous Iron Horse saloon, as well as other bars like the Broken Spoke, etc. I'm sure there will be parking at Destination Daytona, and for the bars down US-1 there are a number of lots open on both sides of the street.
The next area is Main St. Located on the beachside in Daytona Beach, just about 3 blocks north of International Speedway Blvd. The street gets lined with tons of bikes, and like has been mentioned before, lots of vendors set up tents there. You can try to park at the parking garage(it's located adjacent to the Ocean Center, Daytona's civic center), and if it's a hassle to park there you should be able to find an open lot with parking for $10-20. There are quite a few just north of Main St. on Peninsula Ave, etc. The festivities on Main St. stretch over the bridge to the riverfront area in front of the downtown Daytona Beach Harley dealership.
The last area is at the Speedway. The manufacturers set up their displays out there, and there are motorcycle races as well(Championship Cup Series and Formula USA). Parking is located all around the Speedway.
You can check out www.biketoberfest.org for a list of the events.
