Need help in Tampa area

im a newbie, and need help dropping my tranny to replace the clutch. i have had the worst month in my life with this problem, most of the recent/current/important ones can be found here HERE I have hardly any tools, and have never done this before and dont have another $250 to shell out again to drop the trans. Im pretty much looking for an angel willing to help me do this, as well as provide some of the tools. I can probably get a lot of tools from my dad and uncle, including those things u drive the front tires on the raise the car. Im willing to offer a bit of cash for the help, but that has to be negotiated. I can also provide help in the future. ill drive just about anywhere in the immediate area, but not too far, cuz the car has the WRONG clutch in it....a '96 corvette clutch. i gotta take it out and hope autozone will honor the lifetime warranty, specially since they gave me the wrong one when i asked for a clutch set for a '96 camaro. any help would be appreciated...

man Ive never done a T-56, and only one T-5. I wish you had an auto it would be cake. Ive done those quite a few times. But I have the tools, and most likely the space. Ill talk to my friend, who does manuals all the time, and see how much different it would be.

But I may be able to help you out. Where are you at in Tampa, Im actually in Riverview. I can probbaly get us garage space, and I tools are no problem.

Im sure we could get it done if you got me the parts, cause if I get stuck I know plenty of people who can help me out. But if you find someone else who says they can do it, and you trust them go for it I wont take offense

let me know, send me an e-mail DarthIROC@yahoo.com or give me a call (813) 245-4065 Call me anytime, after 7 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, or anytime at all on other days.

Sorry I can't help with the install, but I'd like to make a suggestion...if everything drops through and you can't find an angel for the tranny, I would recommend taking the car to 2001 Transmissions in Tampa. I recently had a rebuild done on my automatic 97 TA and it was $771 out the door. Everywhere else wanted $1000 and up. There are quite a few people from the Tampa based messageboard http://www.badrap.net that have used him...his name is Grady and he is highly recommended.
