I wish. Never got to call you when I made it to Key West, but had an awsome time. I will call when I make it down again without the family (I think June will be with wife and baby....)...that may be a while....

For those interested, the Keys are awsome. Would never live in Key West, but it is an awsome vacation spot. I get a job in Miami, and I will look at Largo, that is for sure!

You know I'll probably make it down at least once. Probably with the family. If I do I will bring the boat. I gotta learn how to use a spear gun sometime.

I have friends who want to come down frmo Chicago the week after Easter. I doubt spring break starts that early, but they were interested in visiting Key West. They weren't excited about the drive from Orlando, though.

How much are they willing to spend on a private flight? I left the Daytona airport at 9:45 and was in my rental car in Key West before 12...... I might be bribed to fly...ahem, I mean split the cost.....

Well, there would be us three passengers, and you. I thought I read another post of yours indicating the weight limit. The two guy passengers would combine for approx 400lbs, and I guess she might be 130lbs.

The last time I flew in a prop airplane someone lied about their wait and we had to make an emergency landing. Let's just say we barely cleared the first building and we ran out of concrete during landing

4 might push the weight limit. Let me do the math later and get back to you.

They must have lied by a lot. I have flown a few hundred pounds overweight and it just takes a little extra room to take off (maybe an extra 300 feet). Landings are just the opposite. All that weight helps you get on the ground. And, believe it or not, loaded properly, a heavier plane is faster... You just have to balance the fuel load. You don't need 2 hours extra to do a 2 hour trip. Fuel is heavy, so that is manageable.

Anyways, I will do the math later when I am awake!

I was looking at a key west travel site and I think the deep-sea fishing would be great!

Deep Sea? They have that there? lol

The beauty is that I catch most of my fish in less than 10 feet of water. [In my little pos 15 foot boat that's important. ]

Jeff, yeah I know about the fishy page. Jen told me. I haven't looked yet. I'm afraid that if I do I'll be there this weekend.

i know...there are only a few things i do well...

f***ing

swimming

wrecking cars without dying

and

KILLING THINGS

the winter is when the big fish are in on the reef, ive dove several spots where there were 10+ legal gouper within sight...considering visibility is usually 30-40 ft that's impressive!

i'm chatting with a guy who wants to go out spearfishing in the bluewater for pelagics (tuna, dolphin, wahoo etc) over the second half of March...i'm kindda stoked about swimming in 2000ft of water with nothing to hide behind

I guess I had my months confused. Spring Break is usually March. Anyway, I checked out your site. When you say you shot the fish, is that an analogy to spearfishing or do you need a CCW permit to fish?

spearfishing...

powerheads are illegal down here

it's a great sport, i grew up fishing, then got into archery, then later into diving...

.......and this is a combination of all 3

nothing like killing and wrestling a 20Lbs fish under 100ft of water
