who else is going? i wasn't but since i convinced my new boss to go i'm going to go as well.

I'll be there as usual. Hopefully my oil leaking, slipping clutch pig of a car will be sorted out by then.

 

Let me know if you need someone to keep those V710's warm for ya. I wouldn't want you to put any unnessecary strain on that clutch

Anyhow my brother and I should be there. I think I'll even be driving my Trans Am this time

 

Jeff, where's it leaking? I recall taking my 95TA in for service because the intake had an oil leak. If nothing else, I plan on bringing extra oil. I'm not sure I'll have enough room in the cabin to cover both of our fat ho's, though If you want to co-drive mine, you're welcome to do so.

Jason, if Jeff lets you use his 710's on your TA, it should be mandatory you run in GTR You've been to Evo enough times. Oh, and don't forget to set your alarm clock this month

 

Jeff, FWIW when my intake leaked it never hurt anything. But I didn't let it go for very long either as it was making a big mess under the car.

Jim, I guess George was not impressed with our "fashionably late" arrival We'll be there early this time!

 

Anasazi - Will your boss be racing or watching? If racing, what will he/she be driving?

It's up at Next Level Performance having the intake manifold leak fixed today. I don't think the oil leak is causing the clutch to slip. It appears that it isn't fully engaging as all I have to do is barely depress the pedal to make it slip. I'm going to play around with shimming the slave cylinder this Saturday to see if that helps. If that works I'll run it that way on Sunday and replace the hydraulics later.

 

Do you still have the A4? Perhaps you could swap it back in just for the weekend?

 

Now that's an option I hadn't considered. Thanks for pointing it out Jim.

Apparently it isn't my intake manifold leak that is oiling down the inside of my bellhousing. The tranny input shaft seal is leaking so the six speed needs to come back out. The seal is like $6 but the transmission has to come apart to replace it. Mike Norris also pointed out that my water pump is starting to leak on my Opti. It hasn't been a good day.

 

I'm sorry. The tranny needs to actually be torn down? Didn't you have your A4 built by Ken Wells? I haven't heard of folks using him for manual trannies, but it's not hard (so I'm told, with the right tools). I've taken my tranny to Jake Lamotta in the past with success. But he's not real close to you.

If you can make it Sunday, you're still welcome to co-drive my car if you desire.
