Re: MSCC Autocross anyone?

I plan on being there. I saw Chuck & Jeff @ Li'l 500 a few days ago and they'll be there.

Normal venue is in Tavares. If your in the Orlando metro area, find your way to the intersection of SR429 (toll) and SR441 just northwest of Apopka. Take 441N a few miles until you come to CR448 (truck route) which is right next to railroad tracks. Turn left here and continue straight until it comes to a Y in the road. Continue right and follow until until you come to a 4-way stoplight at CR561. Turn left on CR561, then turn right onto Frankies Road about 1 mile down on the right. Turn left just before the road turns from paved into dirt to enter the venue.

Or, instead of turning at the railroad tracks, there will be the normal CR448 (I think the street name is Sadler) further north on 441N. Turn left there and follow until the T, then turn right. When you turn right it places you on the same physical road about 1-2 miles after the Y mentioned in the previous paragraph.

Time is this Sunday, the 8th. Mandatory drivers meeting at 10am followed by novice walkthough, and I think tech prefers to close at 9:30am of late. If you're not changing anything on the car when you arrive, I'd arrive no later than 8:45am. Earlier based upon how long it takes you to alter your vehicle.

The Pink Pig is still catering the event. They offer hot breakfast & lunch sandwiches, and a variety of non-alcoholic drinks.

Damnit...

Doubt I will be doing any good, the Yenisches, are supposed to have a fresh set of kuhmos on for this event. Hard enough to compete with them anyways...

Either way maybe I will get lucky, it will rain and flood the track, my 712s, work nicely in the wet

Re: MSCC Autocross anyone?

It's about that time when I need to start packing up the car. Hopefully all the rain dried up by now. I went to wash the car for the MCO show, then it started pouring rain, then I saw I had a flat so I got that plugged (yeah, yeah, I know I should patch it), then grabbed some dinner and it was still raining, so I ended up skipping the show.

So it was a wasted afternoon

Re: MSCC Autocross anyone?

I feel for ya, I really do. All I did last year is pad Chuck's points, and I'm doing the same thing this year for Glenn. Now I see that Glen is ordering Kumho V710's, which will only increase the margin.

btw, it's still raining

Hopefully the course will be under a few in. of water so a nice heavy v6 Camaro with 275 kuhmos ecsta 712s on Zr1s can have lots of control, while a lightweight integra with v700s jsut skates across the surface of the water hydroplaning

Re: MSCC Autocross anyone?

The computer software has a bug that messes up other times when they enter O/C (off-course) as a result - so they use the DNF instead.

I was O/C the first run (not sure where), and hit one cone the second run, and two the third run. The Victoracers were pushing like a pig in the rain the third run. I could have sworn the time I read off the display in the final run was 70.x, not 73.x.

I don't think you have to install mods if you want to run in a non-stock class. Most don't because they wouldn't be competitive.

I didn't read your post about taking pics/video until just now...sorry Eric. I would have been glad to help you out.

Dustin - Thanks again for the magnetics. Was that your Father there with you? I think I saw him in the pre-stage lanes with you. I made a mental note to thank him as well, but forgot to do so. Please pass along my gratitude!

I think you can move up in classes... but if anything I wish I was in GP, main thing is my wheels killing me. I can't run my stockers anymore, they are very bald, I think if I ran 2 autocrosses on them alone, I would have wire showing. And I am too cheap to buy a spare set of tires
