Maf

i'm running with my MAF unplugged and it seems to be running smoother. the miss is not 100% gone but its significantly decreased.

anyone got a MAF i can borrow for a day or two or purchase? needs to be 1994-1997, preferably screened and never used with a K&N air filter if possible.

It will run smoother because it is ignoring pretty much all the sensors, not just th MAF, and running a stock speed-density style limp home program. By unplugging it you triggered the SES light which switches the computer into this mode. Doesn't mean your problem lied in the MAF, doesn't mean it didn't either, just something to think about.

hmm i was under the impression that it just ignored the MAF and went speed density, everything else ran normally?

I am pretty darn sure it has to at least ignore the O2's as well. When my car had a header leak and caused the O2's to read bad it triggered an SES, stopped reading the O2's (which were reading lean and dumping too much fuel in) and ran fine.
