Looking for ONE Daytona 500 ticket (too many scammers on Ebay)
Since I will be down there during that time on business, this is my one opportunity to see this thing. I've been bidding on tickets on Ebay, but I saw a guy's listing:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWA:IT
....and it's obviously true. There's two people on there that have posted remarks and said they got scammed. One for $700 and the other for $650. So now I'm afraid to even bid on a paper ticket in fear of getting screwed myself.
Since I started bidding on tickets, I've also gotten about 2 or 3 emails a day from jokers trying to sell me tickets. Their email addresses look shady:
ss00code-sai3747341@mailblocks.com
cla4all4-bncv1341@mailblocks.com
Those are two emails I've gotten. Instead of deleting these two, I actually called them on it and replied, "Sure, give me your full name, home address, and phone number and we'll talk." One of them actually gave me information:
Amalia Deed
317 Branch Street
London, E179AP
United Kingdom
00447890968614
^^ This belongs to the first email address I listed, and they replied using an email address of JudRoche-Daytona500@mailblocks.com
ANYWAY, if any of you know someone that has ONE legitimate Daytona 500 ticket in hand to sell, let me know. I'd rather meet someone in person. I will pay cold hard cash for this. So if you've got a good contact, email me privately, PM me, or reply here.

I have been there a dozen times and every time I could have bought tickets for great seats at cost or sometimes below from people in the parking lot. Last year I decided to try it and got seats at the pit road exit about 30 rows up for $10 under list. I know it's nice to have the security of holding a ticket but I have seen it so much that I was pretty confident to get tickets.

I was kinda thinking that myself. I might just go there with a lump of cash in my pocket and see what I can find in the parking lot. If not, then I guess it wasn't meant to be and I'll just jump on a charter boat and go fishing for the day.

You will definitely be able to get a ticket there...don't know about quality or price but there will plenty available. Like one of the posts mentioned you might very well find some good seats at a fair price from someone that got stuck with an extra ticket and just wants to unload it. I see people selling them right accross the street everytime I go and if I am not mistaken if they are selling them at face value or below it is not illegal. Good luck and hope you have fun if you go...it is quite an experience.

I work at the speedway on the ambulance, but unfortunately can not get tickets....
There are better seats, but there are no truly bad seats. Plenty of scalpers. Big fun if you have never been (or are paid!).
Let us know if you will be in town!!

That could probably be arranged if you want to have a look-see I could get you on the flightline. I'll be teaching the in-flight refueling system on the C-130H.
