A friend of mine is looking for a 98-02 OEM SS hood in mint condition (no damage) any color is fine.

Not as hard as you would think. I picked up an OEM SS Hood, OEM SS Spoiler, and OEM SS Rims from two different people over on LS1tech.

You just have to look. The guy that I got the hood and spoiler from blew a rod through the bottom of the block. He didn't have the money to fix it, couldn't sell it without a working engine, and his insurance didn't cover it due to him having so many obvious modifications when the car was seen by the adjuster (Tennessee laws are different than Florida). so he parted the whole car in order to come up with a down-payment for his next project. So it can be done.

Just my experience. Not trying to start something.

 

The person just wants to stick with OEM? Like Jason said it's not very hard to find one just checking see if one was local or in the state.
