finally got rid of my crappy leaking exhaust.

staceys custom muffler on 12th st did a great job, for a helluva price. if you need yours done, call them at 362-3833 and ask for stacey.

i used 18" long chambered mufflers (the kind they use on the GMMG cars).
i have jethot longtube headers, then all piping is mandrel bent 3", into an Xpipe, then the mufflers, then it exits right before the axle shooting straight back. it didnt even need turndowns.

at idle it is very clean and mellow.......no annoying resonance inside. i was pleasantly suprised because i was afraid this would be too loud, but to be honest, my stock manifolds/ypipe/cutout was louder i think. (just at idle i mean)

give it some gas and it sounds like something between a 60's muscle car and a nice 5.0 exhaust setup..... its plenty loud too.

because the engine is still stock, i knew i was gonna lose a little power with this much exhaust flow..........but im doing heads/cam very soon, and i didnt want to have to buy another exhaust later.

i did take some pics with my digi cam, but i lost mycompactflash card reader, so i guess theyll have to wait.

yeah, the car runs fine...........just went out for a drive.........definetly lost some low end torque with the true duals........but like i said, the cam swap is coming soon, and heads after that.

the pcm is on its way to pcmforless

as for the banner, just i can add it for ya.......should i use the same one you use on this board when it displays up at the top?

btw......i dunno how close you can come to combo motorsports price on their cam package........but im in the market right now for the full valvetrain setup
cam, springs, locks, retainers, 1.6 rr, etc etc

havent decided what cam yet.........probably one of the the XE grinds like 233/239 ........or maybe the GM847.

call me up when you get a chance and let me know what you can do on something like that.

 

next time i'm home in sarasota i wanna hear it. when and if i ever get my z28 i want to do a custom chambered set-up like the gmmg, just don't know if i'll go true dual or not.

 

id recommend trying the longer ones.........i have 18" mufflers with 3" piping........i should have gotten the 24", and used 2.5" piping.........its pretty goddamn loud, and there is some popping.........when i get my cam put in, its gonna sound like all hell is about to break loose.
