hey guys, wanna claim some funds that are do to you?

One of my prof gave me us this link.

http://up.dbf.state.fl.us/

Its a website that lists unclaimed funds. in the state of FL. Like say you didn't pickup a payroll check, etc. Companies can get fined if there is money legally do to you and you don't get it. So it goes to the state's unclaimed funds.

Every state has it apparently, he told us a story, that one of his students looked up his name because he lived in New York for most his life, and he ended up with THOUSANDs of dollars for his family. The kid was jewish, and there were unclaimed funds from the whole Swiss bank account, **** occupation fiasco, where the Swiss banks had to search out next of kin of accounts they had of jewish people killed during the holocaust.

Either way, board between classes I checked it out, I had nothing but I found my brother specifically with my parents address, had 2 unclaimed payroll checks, I am having the claim forms sent to me, and see if I can go through with some of the paper work, and see if I can get a for finding it for him

He has worked has worked form McD's to assistant manager of a restaraunt. So I could see a lost payroll check of his being from $50-$600, and he has 2 of them. My brother is pretty flakey and I could totally see him misplacing or forgetting to deposit a check. When he was a manager at a laser tag place, he would be too lazy to drive to the bank to make the deposit so he woudl take it home, and leave it on our kitchen counter. Plenty of times I woke up to see ~$10,000 cash sitting on our kitchen counter in a deposit bag.

I looked up my boss, I am pretty sure it was him, and he has a "unknown unclaimed property" I need to ask what his old address used to be since he moved to Orlando within the year.

So hey its worth looking into, its not a gimmick like in the e-mails, its the state of FL government website. Actually I wonder if this is what those gimmick e-mails really are.

BTW he said its especially good for old people like grandparents. Sinche they are more likely to have a unclaimed money since they have recieved more claims and because well some old people are forgetful.

I jsut found something in my name, I think through my dead grandfather, looks like there was a stock dividend of a stock that was in my name

I did a search on my flakey brother, in Indiana, because that is where he lives now, but when other names popped up, when I put his name in one guy(DON S MORTON, I was looking up S Morton for my bro) had 16, unclaimed property all from the same insurance company, I added them up and it came to $6,803.30 Thats freaking money just sitting in a government fund UNCLAIMED. Damn I wish I had something sitting around where I coudl claim ~$7k

I found something, but no dollar amount was specified. Oh well, put a claim in, hopefully it's big money.

The thing is, they send you a form for you to verify and show proof that it was you who was in fact the rightful owner. If it was just some other slob that had the same name as you, you don't get it. But if you are rightfully DUE the property, it's a nice surprise.

hehe I figure that much... I know the ones to my brother are due to him. They had his first, last name, and middle initial, and my parents adress that has been the same for over 12 years listed
