Helmets?

Does anyone know where I can get one localy? I live in the UCF area.

I ran in the 13.9 and under lane on friday, after I changed my extremely clogged fuel filter. They let me get one run in w/no helmet.

Now that I've got another tast of those lanes, I've run in them befor but my car was running like crap. (14.1xx here 14.4xx there, you know how it is.) Well, ran in those lanes and stuck like a friggen BIAHTCH, pulled my wonder full 1.855 60' on street tires, and ran a 13.520@100.34mph.

I figure if I get a helmet, some Drag Radials, and get the rest of the bugs outa my car I'll be able to pull a low 13 high 12 at 102-103mph, but only in those lanes.

They are out of Port Orange but it's just as easy to let them ship it to you. I have a friend that bought one from them and paid what I paid at a pawn shop for a crappy used one.

Which one is legal for racing cars?

Did they stop you from running with a 13.9? I was running low 13s in my TA and no-one ever said a word.

I think I will be in the 12s very soon with my Z so I guess I better get one.

That's all mine is. Just a DOT open faced cycle helmet. They don't check for it at tech inspection. They just make sure you have one on if you run in lanes 1 or 2.

They still won't let me run with the top down though.

as soon as the tree hits green, push the button to put the top down then as soon as its far enough down just floor it

you'll have the highest r/t ever, and you'll get kicked out, but hell it'll be the best ride down the 1/4 you've ever had

as long as it is DOT approved you are fine. I use my motorcycle helmet when I go to the track. You can use a half helmet as well, as long as it has the DOT sticker on the back. I don't hoenstly think OSW cares what the helmet is, they don't check them, so as long as you go in with one, thats all they care about.. yep them's good tech there.. ugh.

Roll bars required: 13.99 or quicker for a 'vert, 11.99 or quicker for a coupe. Lanes 1&2 require you to have a helmet and, no they usually don't check for the cert. No do they worry the roll bar cars much either as long as you appear to be in control of the vehicle and don't do something really dumb. Run an 11.60 or so without a bar and swerve all over the track and I'll bet you'll hear about it.

Later ... Larry S.

I got mine from the helmet shop in daytona. It's a black Full faced DOT motorcycle helmet. Works like a charm. It was like $60 CS-10 is the model #

I saw a guide/chart thing online. Do a search on google or check one of the helmet stores sites online. You basically measure the circumference of your head at a certain spot and it falls into a range of sizes.
