had a slight altercation with FHP
had a slight altercation with FHP
got a "written warning" from FHP last night ... WTF? is there any legal reason they have these things? how long does this stay on my record for?
it looks to me as if its just a piece of paper they write all your info on and the officer's info on.

Re: had a slight altercation with FHP
shouldn't affect you unless it's for a compliance issue and then you may get a ticket if you still do not comply and are pulled over again. What was it for? I's way better than a ticket:-)
Re: had a slight altercation with FHP
From my understanding it's more for their records in case something similiar happens again. Also, they probably keep records to prove what they were doing for X amount of time they spent with you.
When I was 17 me and my buddy got a written warning b/c he took his car out to an old air strip to see how fast he could get his car up to. There was a gate but the chain was cut so we drove out there. After about 1 minute a light was on us-he thought it was a cop car so he started driving away. After 30 seconds we had a spotlight on his car and realized it was a police helicopter. 1 minute later he pulls over and we had about 15 cop cars there all with their guns drawn before they ordered us out the car-maybe they thought we were buying/selling drugs
After talking to us for 20 minutes and putting us in handcuffs they let us go with a warning. I just paid to get a copy of my record from the state of florida and that isn't even mentioned on there

Re: had a slight altercation with FHP
ehh i didn't see an FHP traveling in the fast lane as i came up on him in the right most lane (3 lane road). saw the silver reflective "FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL" on the rear quarter and i SLAMMED the brakes HARD.
he hit his brakes at the exact same time but i slowed down faster, he almost lost it into the car between us which almost merged into me trying to avoid the FHP.
since i slowed down faster he basically came to a near stop on alafaya in the fast lane, flipped on his lights and waited for me to go past before getting right behind me lol
only reason he didn't give me a ticket is because there was no way he could have observed my speed. i had just turned onto alafaya and was at WOT when i saw him
interesting thing was he didn't say crap about my cutout, guess its just not loud enough

Re: had a slight altercation with FHP
hehe written warning from FHP? Consider yourself blessed not sure I ever heard of anyone getting off from FHP...
Best I ever got off from FHP was a failre to observe a traffic control device opposed to a speeding ticket 65 in a 45.
Ohh well, as for written warnings I have had like 3-4 of them, never show up on background checks from police or by my self on the internet I think its just to let you know, nothing official.
