Why not do the AutoZone power window motor? Lifetime warranty? I have a link to directions to do them in less than 30 minutes if you need....even worked on my third gen slightly modified....

Dealer is NOT the place to get a window motor. I was told to go to Autozone and get one... cheaper than GM wholesale for a new one. The only reason I would go to GM for one is if it was free under warranty.

....and then I would be enjoying a cup of coffee while someone else did some work....

Yup, the window motor on my 01 SS was replaced once under warranty. Then once by me (Autozone $50 unit) When I did it, it was easy because the dealer already drilled out the holes in the doors and used screws to attach it instead of the factory rivets.

Yeah, dealer list on that thing is crazy though. Even with a hookup, it's really not worth it.

i'd be installing it myself anyways, i just need the part

in my old car i used the central auto parts window motors, rebuilt ones of course, and they didn't seem to enjoy lasting more than a few months ... clearly a pain in the *** even if they were free for life.

I have a business account with Bill Heard's parts dept. I get pretty good prices. Usually about 50% off or so.

Give me a call and let me know exactly what you want?

Yeah, I know he bought it used, I just thought the owner would have left them in there as a courtesy. I doubt there's much he can do with t-top shades now that he has no t-top car.

C5s also come with a blue tinted top. When my friend's mom got her navy blue Corvette back in '01, the glass top was tinted blue.

Maybe it was an option... to have 2 tops, We came across several vettes that had a solid top and a glass top, nothign he cared about much, I really don't care at all, I only drove it 5 minutes with the top on anyways

As for t-tops shades, I am sure you coudl sell them on the side and make a few extra bucks.

Have you tried www.gmpartsdirect.com yet. They are usually cheaper than the dealerships.

As for the Vette shades, it comes standard with the solid top and is an option for the glass top. They are all blue tinted but they can look black.
