Anyone here from G'ville go to the Bust Buy meets on Thursday nights? I may go check it out one of these weeks. I saw there is a group that meets in Ocala twice a week..I may want to check that out as well. Later.

The Gainesville Muscle Car Association (GMCA) meets at the Best Buy on Archer Road every Thursday at 9pm. The turnouts are a little slimmer in the summer due to school schedules and students going home for the summer and the like, but there is still a great representation of both classic and new muscle. You can also expect to see a good turnout of sport bikes should you go. Not a bad way to spend a Thursday night.

The club in Ocala is called Wheels Up Racing, and has formal meets on Tuesdays and informal ones on Saturdays. The formal meets are at the Sonic on 19th street by the Regal Cinema and Wal-Mart. We meet at 8:30pm on Tuesdays. Again, the meets are slimmer in the summer but a good turnout all the same.

Saturday night everyone meets at Staples on SR40 (Silver Springs Blvd) about 9:30-10:00pm and usually remains until after midnight most Saturdays. Our club usually parks right next to the street, and other local clubs park behind us.

I would not advise meandering into the Sav-A-Lot parking lot at all. Not the group you want to be associated with, as they typically have a showing of law enforcement on their side of the street by the end of the evening. Rough crowd.

I used to go every Thursday. As a matter a fact I helped decide that the group meet there back about a year and a half ago. They are a great bunch of guys and gals.
I miss the meetings and all the great people I met. I plan on going back sometime to hang with the old crowd and run at Gville Raceway.
Jen, I read back in another thread that you were taking some classes. Hope everything is going good. Next Gville meet you go to be sure to tell all the old guys I say what's up.

Yeah, definitely try to make it out to Best Buy some Thursday night. It's a blast. I too miss the meetings. I'll have to make the drive over to visit my sister, and see all the GMCA members again.

Actually I used to be in the Keys, Key West to be specific. But now I'm back up in Ormond Beach. It was a cool experience, but trust me, Key West gets real small, real fast. Also, the drive from there to the mainland is the worst I've ever driven. To tell ya the truth, I'm glad to be outta there.

Anyways, glad to hear you're doing good Jen. Since I'm only about 2hrs away from G-ville now it's fairly easy for me to shoot over for the weekend. I'm trying to get over again to visit my sister before summer is over. I'll let ya know when it will be.

I'm doing pretty good. Tampa's been great. I haven't been to active in the car scene here (Not at all like I was in Gainesville). I've gone to a couple of the car shows and the people seem to be cool. I've since shifted my main focus on my career. Unfortunately as we speak my Z is sidelined. I got into a little fender bender the other day and need to replace the whole front of the car. I think now that football season is around the corner I'm going to plan a trip to Gville. I'm thinking Thurs-Hang with GMCA, Fri-Party, Sat-Watch gator game and, Sun-hit the track.
I've still have a lot of buddys I know I could stay with.
