I thought it applied only to PIP coverage, and was supposed to save us money - not delete the requirement for having car insurance? Remembered this local story from last month, guess the state legislature is going back to summer school. http://www.firstcoastnews.com/news/n...?storyid=85336

wait... so what does this mean? how basic of a car insurance can I put on a vehicle?

Edit: not a deadbeat but selling a car, and my deadline was before I had to renew insurance(prepaid 6 mos), but if I can renew it for dirt cheap, and just drive it way less. might do that.

yep, that's going to free up a little garage space for me as well. I had to keep a couple in the garage, couldn't even park them in the driveway or some bitchy neighbor would report me for not having a tag on the car.

BTw, Eric........ old blue just turned over 200K while I took her on vacation. She's getting a refresh this month.

50% of what I pay for insurance is for the "non-insurance collision" (people in Miami seems to forget that this is USA! and that you need insurance to f drive!!!)

I guess I'll have to bend over even farther now

edit... I don’t even have the resources to bend over more I might have to move out of the state…

I remember State Farm sending me a mail saying that if this happened, my rates would go up.

I just talked to State Farm, and they say that my insurance is actually going to go down with a similar coverage (I guess, they are going to change the name PIP for something else)

It has always been that way in florida for motorcycles. Don't need any insurance at all on a motorcycle unless the bank requires it. Just don't be caught speeding in GA with no insurance, they will impound your vehicle and let you walk home.
