Dell Password??

somehow there is a way to reset your bios. i have no clue how to do it with a laptop, but it'll probably involve taking the thing apart and shorting out a solder point or taking out the backup battery. if you open it up i guarentee you that you'll void your warentee. take it to a dell repair place.

There will be a small jumper on the motherboard somewhere. You'll should be able to read on the board where it says BIOS. Most of them have it written, if not you'll need a diagram of the MOBO to find that jumper. You need to short the jumper for about 20 seconds and then put it back to it's normal position and reboot. This will clear the bios of any passwords. Good luck.

i assume you know your way around a pc...
So try this:
1. Boot to a dos prompt and type (without the quotes):
2. "debug" enter
3. "O 70 18" enter
4. "O 71 FF" enter
5. "Q" enter
Then unplug the laptop and remove the batter so it has no power. Wait about a minute and power it back on, it should give a message saying that the bios was reset or something similar....

My only suggestion is to try to find someone who works at Convergys on the Dell account and see if they can look it up for you.
I worked there a few years ago and there are master passwords for a few models but I've totally forgotten what they are.
