Crash kills kids on Turnpike - link to lounge post

I put it in the lounge to get the most exposure but I wanted to make sure my friends here in Florida don't miss it.

Not to be a cold hearted Bastard, but I don't know how many times I have seen kids crawling around in a minivan and said to myself "You are going to regret that move one day" It shows that even in a minor accident, having no seatbelts on can kill you. Why in Gods name would you not buckle up your children traveling down a 70mph road.

my thoughts exactly, whenever anyone gets in my car I always make them wear their seatbelt. Not only can you be ticketed for it but It can also kill you for not wearing it. Can make something that you could walk away from into something that could end your life. I think about it like this, if the drivers of the top fuel dragsters wear harnesses, then I am dang sure gonna wear a seatbelt.

These types of crashes are to common on florida highways. I've seen them before & have taken care of some of the victims and survivors of these accidents. Yes seatbelts can save lives without a doubt but that is not always the case. Head on collisions are one of the worst kinds. The impact is doubled and the outcomes are poor. A great fault lies in the road design. There are no barriers or guard rails along most of florida's high speed roadways. A simple guard rail may help either slow down or deflect the impact significantly. We need to place barriers along are roads.
