Chip reprograming
I have been running into a Over heating problem. and I have checked most of the obvious. then a frined of mine said that I may need to get my Chip reprogramed so that it turns on the fans sooner.. (cause they are coming on at like 225).. along with possibly fine tunning the car.
I was wondering if anyone new a good place in Orlando... Or if anyone was willing to help me out if they have the eqiupment to do it themselves.
OR. any tips on getting me to run cooler. would be good to.
Thanks.

i just flushed my whole coolant system over the weekend and my car runs colder than it used to... used to always be directly in the middle of the guage and now its a little bit below that.
also try a low temp thermostat and reprogramming fans ... other than that i dunno

Yup, Thermostat and reprogramming are the next two things i was planning on trying to correct it from going hot on me.
do you happen to know where to get the fans reprogramed? (anyone?)
Thanks for the reply.

That is normal temperture. Your fans shouldn't kick on until 235-245 range. Overheating would be in the 260's. I did a TB bypass and helped it quite a bit, but I did it as more as a hp mod then anything else, but I didn't feel a difference. If you are set on cooler temps get a 160 stat and hpp3 and waste a lot of money, both are completely useless and rob you of both hp and gas mileage. Heat is good to a point, and essential, but you don't want to run to cold either. If you think you are overheating just turn on the AC the fans will come on automatically and your temps should stay around 180, otherwise don't worry its normal. I thought I was overheating also when I first bought my car, but found out later on it was not true.

Thanks for the info.
i guess maybe its not as bad as i thought it is then. It kinda does bother me that the temp hardley goes below 210 (city traffic). and kinda scares me when it approchaes the third white line.
I find that the car works best when around 180. any warmer and it seems to slow up a bit (not alot.. but enough).
With AC on (when it worked). it only really went down to maybe 190.
Maybe what I will do is just try to get the fans to come on sooner.. and call it a day.

First make sure the thermo is working correctly, then install a fan switch ($5 and you decide when to turn them on).
If even w/ the fans it won't cool down, you may need a system flush or to have your radiator "rodded out".
Start w/ a switch.

You can use a Hyper-Tech to change the settings to turn the fans on at a lower temp and not have to reflash you computer have a chip burned.
