The Bu Is Running!!!

hey all, for those that know me, i have been working a long time on a 79 malibu..

my first attempt at a resto or whatever you call it when you totally rebuild a car and motor.

here are the specs...350 .30 over, trw forged pistons, vortec heads, rpm performer intake 750 carb, 700r4 , dual 2.5" 50 series mufflers... stock rear for know, kinda like the idea of 2.08 gears for fuel sakes....

she needs a tune up, but i drove her all over town yesterday/.. just got the muffs put on... stay tuned for pics!!! sounds awesome..... i cant wait to get insurance and registration now!!!!

later
brian

Did you ever get the hard starting problem figured out?

please dont put 2.08s behind that other very respectable set-up. Besides with the OD in the 700-r4 you should get tolerable milage anyway.

I guess it had to happen sooner or later. Congrats Man! Now tell us the truth ... did it fire up on the first try? I guess you aren't a virgin engine builder any more, really cool!

Anything I can do just give a shout. Let me know when you feel like heading over this way. I might even let you install my Magna Flow exhaust on the T/A for me Of course then you'd have to test drive it and let me hear how it sounds!

Later ... Larry S.

i also have a 3.42 chunk out of an s10 posi...i just dont have $$$ right now to get it set up...plus the motor still needs tuning.,

yeah larryy...maybe its your turn to come visit me!!LOL

Do you really mean 2.08s or 3.08s?

these malibus came with crappy 2.08 gears, for lower emissions or whatnot so i gotta change them out.

car runs really good now, starts right up each time!! i never thought i would see the day!

i got insurance today, and registering her tomorrow..so its off the the cruise this weekend!
