Sorry... long
My experience with Classic when it was on 17-92.
I took my 97 Monte Z34 there a couple times. It was using over 2 quarts of oil between changes. It was obviously leaking from the cam seals or main seal or somewhere on the front of the motor. 15,000 miles and it was all gooey on the passenger side of the engine. They cleaned the engine bay to like new condition and supposedly put some dye in the oil. Then I brought it back in 2,000 miles like I was told to do. The residue was very light and they told me there was no evidence of it ever having an oil leak. Duh! They cleaned it off. But they said to bring it back in a week (they had to schedule me in) and they would look at it some more.
This time they called me and told me to pick it up and bring it back in another week to be fixed. They couldn't tell me what they were gonna do to fix it. Peter was the service advisor. I think he moved to Classic since then. He was rude and got real pissy when I wanted to know what work was gonna be done to my car before they did it. He kept saying that they would tell me when I dropped it off again. He couldn't pull it up ahead of time (so he said). But they had already done the investigation and I was just supposed to be waitning for parts to come in.
So I go back again and he still couldn't tell me what they planned on doing. But I had received a paper in the mail saying that part numbers XXX and YYY were in. So I went to the parts department and found out what parts they were. They were a gasket set, PCV valve and a hose of some kind. Finally he went and talked to someone in the garage and came back to tell me they were going to replace the PCV valve and either replace the valve seals or the the valve cover gaskets. But I couldn't find out for sure which one was planned. But it was gonna be one or the other.
The valve cover gaskets weren't leaking. And I would hope that if they were concerned about them they would replace them if they opened them up to replace the valve seals. He also said they were gonna remove the head if they had to replace the valve seals. I left and drove around the front. I went into the showroom and got the service manager to see me. Even though Peter had told me that he was out of town and there was noone I could talk to besides himself. He was obviously annoyed to have to talk to me. He looked at the car and told me that 2 quarts between changes wasn't excessive by GM standards and that they really didn't have to do anything about it. They were doing me a huge favor just looking at it.
That was enough for me. I left and never went back. Nor will I.

You probably made someone mad. And dont even know it. You know cut someone off or pulled out in front of them. Stuff that happens everyday. And he's just too chicken to say anything to you. So he f-ed up your car. Happens all the time. But just once I'd love to be walking up behind some pu$$y like that and be standing there when he turns around.
And then you have the punks that I saw at Winn Dixie a couple months ago. 3 teenage boys with the baggy grunge look and sock caps (keep in mind this was September and 85 degrees outside) and one teenage girl. They get to their V6 4gen Camaro, take their shopping cart and shove it as hard as they can directly at the side of a Toyota a few spaces away, caving in the passenger door. It was so funny! At least they thought so.
So I got their plate as they drove off, went back inside and had the lady who owned the car paged so I could give her the info. Purely a random act of ignorance and lack of respect for someone else's property. I hope she got them to pay for it.
I sure did enjoy ratting them out.
Let me catch one of these pr!cks touching my car and I'll be in jail. But I guarantee they'll never do it again... that is after they learn how to walk again.

Sorry to hear that... girl backed into my car in a parking lot, chirped the tires to take off I dhased her down ran her off the road cussed her out and spit on her hood.... She screatched my hood... but no worse then it was before. Since my car is old and not worth much didn't think it was worth the trouble of getting her to pay for it.
I got my satisfaction spitting on her car and scaring the hell out of her.
Either way as the mirror goes.. I replaced mine. i think it was $75 this was passenger side so no cable contorls or any controls. And painted it with some spray paint(they are balck anyways)
Assuming you wish to go the poor broke man ghetto way.

Just my experience with Bill Heard... I took my truck in for warranty work, the advisor repeatedly tried to sell me BS I didn't need. I had to threaten to leave and call GM's 1-800 # on him. Finally, they fixed my damn truck. They wanted over $300 to rotate the tires, change fluids, and "inspect" things.
The items I had them fix, I could have done myself - but then why would I do that if they will honor the warranty? Oh well... yet another GM dealer that gets a thumbs down from me about their lack of customer service. High pressure sales picthes have nothing to do with warranty work in my mind.

Heated mirrors? I want some of what he's on. If it's not too late, try calling Eddie at the parts counter @ Classic Chevrolet. He gives me pretty good prices, you might be able to save some money there. Can't guarantee they'll be in stock *shrug*
So far as dealers, I tend to move from dealer to dealer depending upon where a trustworthy mechanic is located. When Kelly Daniels worked at Courtesy Pontiac in Longwood, I gave as much business to him as I could. He had his GN shortblock apart twice at the shop rebuilding it due to exuberant activities
He now works at a Caddy dealership and still can't work on my car at the dealership. :-\
When I went Chevy and Pontiac wouldn't do local Chevy warranty work, I eventually ended up using Andy Taylor (service advisor) at Don Mealey and hooked up with Mike Norris in early 1999.
Horrible, slow service at Classic. Slow service at Holler, but my one experience with them was decent. Many decent experiences with Heard, but they'll try to sell you land. While Mikey was teamed with Andy @ Mealey, they couldn't be beat. I'd recommend Andy to anyone - but you have to trust him and be honest; and that's something many customers are afraid to do at a dealership.
So, you could say I'm in-between dealerships
