BEWARE Cory Fairbanks Mazda on 17-92

Just got back from this rediculous dealership. My transmission died in my 94 z28, so i wanted to get a lease on something cheap for $0 down, and around $200/month, since thats all the Ford dealership told me I could afford based on my income, after they refused me on a 2004 GT even with $2000 down.
The Mazda 3 5spd I looked at was $18600, supposedly with $2000 in rebates that the dealer didnt know anything about??? Anyway, after test driving one, and finding it acceptable, they started working the numbers. First they came back with $459-500/month with $2000-3000 down on a 48 month loan. When i mentioned I needed a lease, they came back after 5 minutes with the rediculous figure of $379/month for 60 months!!!! Thats $22740 for a $18500 car, and I'm leasing it???? Not from them I'm not! That's absurd! and I'll never buy a Mazda again in my life after my experience here. THANKS CORY FAIRBANKS and your staff!

Just think before a second before you put your signature on a deal like this o a new car. Bring a calculator with you if you must.

Are there any dealers out there that'll give me a sporty $14000-18000 car for a $200/month lease that i wont have to pay for the rest of my life???

You hear their commercials? They exemplify the term "car dealer". Ugh.

Call Bill Ray Nissan. Talk to Dennis Arabejo, and tell him Marlene and Mike Allen sent you. We ordered a new XTerra this past January, and got it in March. He was a good guy, and they are no BS. Got it for a good deal, and they gave me a fair trade in, even though I was "upside down" on my blazer.

Good luck, and let us know how you do!

Re: BEWARE Cory Fairbanks Mazda on 17-92

Too bad an SUV isnt for me, and the rest of their manual sporty cars are $20,000+
I was just denied on a 04 GT that was $22,000 (Overpriced?) at Sun State Ford due to the amount of income i made.
If I could get a used 98-02 6spd SS/Z28/T/A for little or no down, i'd jump on that in a heartbeat.
I'll give him a call anyway and see what he can do. Thanks for the advice man.

How about that new scion Xt 2 door thingy? IIRC - it ran 15.7 and was under $20K. Just a thought.

A tranny is cheaper than a new car...just a thought. I wouldn't want to get bogged down with 4+ years of payments and higher insurance. I can't wait for mine to be paid off here shortly.

Let me know if I can help. This is only part time for me now. Actually no-time as of late with the new job and family issues. But I'll help if I can. www.govroomservice.com

First bit of advice though is to go to your bank and see how much they will approve you for. Some credit unions will even do leases too. And you'll know what you can afford before you shop. Know what you can afford, decide what you want to buy, find the best price, don't be a nice guy. The dealership might seem nice to your face but the second you leave, they talk about how much they almost got you for. Even if the salesman isn't that way. The sales manager is. And so is the finance person. The salesman's job is to win your trust, be your friend and get you to "land" on a car. It's the sales manager and finance managers' jobs to get you to pay every penny possible.

Been there...

Rebuilt transmission sounds like a better idea though. But I understand what it's like when you decide you want something else.

Seriously, you could take your car down to Ken's performance in Orlando and have a performance rebuild done for <1200 bucks. A stock rebuild is even less. Are you that tired of the Z?

yes bring a calculaor especially a finance calculator.

Jesus do they try and rape you. YOu get them to say yeah thats a good price, they go in the back room to talk to the "nimbers" guy. And then they come out with a price a month. Which adds like $5k to the price you agreed on(and that is on top of calculating the interest.)

AS for fixing the car, sure you will have it fixed but then you still will have a car with how ever many miles and any other problem it currently has.

Re: BEWARE Cory Fairbanks Mazda on 17-92

dude, I walked into a Honda dealership and told the sales guy that helped me that I was looking for a Honda Accord 4 door, with power windows and locks, a/c and it didn't matter if it was stick or automatic, and I was only putting down $1500....I told him I wanted to pay $200 a month for 36 months with 12K miles a year....it took all of 5 mins for him to come back and tell me OK, with tax $218 a month.

DONE. Look for an o4' model...most dealerships want to unload now....

jy211,
I already went to Sun State Ford, and had worked out $379/month for 35 months with $2000 down on a Black 04 Mustang GT, with Black leather, and Chrome 5 spokes, till their Finance manager came out and told me due to my income they won't lease me a car for more than 20% of my monthly income, which comes out to about $200/mo.
