Hi i was just wondering if there was anyone from sarasota in this group ....i dont know any fbody owners here but see lots of them .

 

i'm from sarasota, but i'm in orlando right now going to school. i graduated from riverview in '01. i come down every now and then. check out my website in my sig, you might recognize my car.

 

your car is awesome.....i have only had my trans am since august 23..but its my second fbody....no mods yet ....i am glad there is another person from my area on here....rare to find one ....thanks for the reply

I was born in sarasota but no longer live there or have an f-body haha.

 

it's all stock for now. i just fabbed up a ram air scoop under the air box and thats all. i also got in on the pro 5.0 shifter gp and that'll be it for a little while.

im planning on getting a full true dual exhaust on it, then over the summer pick up some afr heads and have them ported by a friend of mine in town here. then a custom ground cam after i have it all put together.

for now i might just throw a 125 shot of nitrous and et streets on weld drag lites and leave it like that for a while, it'll save me a ton of cash =)

btw have you run into a red '00 viper around town? the guy cant drive a stick very well and is extremely arrogant...i was suprised to have won up until about 90mph when we shut down, then a roll from 45mph to 110mph we were even and pulling me in but like i said, he couldnt shift

 

My wife grew up in Sarasota. We go see her folks a couple times a year. Whats the car scene like there? We have talked about moving there for years.

 

car scene...what car scene? =) seriously its mostly imports and a few nice cars around but nobody really wants to mess around. I know a few people around town who are into it. Track is about 20 min away if even that, and its open every Thursday night, 3rd sunday and friday of the month i believe also. they are open often enough that it keeps you from getting the urge to street race, but then again not many around town with a decently quick car street race.

 

i've actually seen tons a cars there. i've seen many rare ones like a mclaren f1, mercedes clk-gtr, ferrari f40; f355; 348; 550 maranello, 360 modena. those were all cars i saw driving around town. theres a place on 41 that has tons of cars for show including a lingenfelter twin turbo corvette. so i'd say the car scene is pretty good if you ask me. as far as the imports go, i know a few turboed guys you may need to watch out for, but most of them aren't very fast.

 

most of those cars are owned by the same guy.......the f1, clk, and f40 are all the same owner








btw....im from sarasota, and i also have a 95 t/a......only mods so far is a slp cai, but im having a cut-out installed wednesday.

yeah the guy who owns the f1, clk, and f40 has a daughter who went to school with me. i think they have two f1s now, not sure. but they are some rich *****

there is the place concord auto on us41 just north of stickney point. then pinache auto which you can rent the cars at across from the landings on us41, they have some nice cars there.

there are a few cars in town right now, but thats only because of college being out until today or whenever. I've run into a few fbodies, and a few quick imports but nothing really impressive. There is a lot of nice cars around but none who really drive them hard or fast around town...

one of the times i went to desot i saw a red viper there ...owner could drive it .....but of hand i cant remember the year ..its great to see others from sarasota ...i am guessing there are no local clubs or anything for the f bodies??....i am member of one in south carolina

we can help each other out doing mods and stuff. i know it sure helped to have someone do the plugs with me!

im ordering some lowering springs, and possibly buying a new aluminum driveshaft (mine is warped) too......so you guys can come over and see how its done.


btw, mine is a red t/a with ttops, silver stock wheels (yuck).

 

thats a good idea...my brother is doing my plugs on my car...she only has 47000 miles but being a 95 i figure i will go ahead with it ..big job .. so nice to have a mechanic as a brother free labor
