Anyone here interested in being an actor?

I have been an actor in Orlando for 5 years (go to Blockbuster and you can rent a movie called "Held for Ransom" with Dennis Hopper where I played the female star's boyfriend) and now have my own business:

www.enterthelightstudios.com

It's mainly for actor's already in the industry that want an edge for networking and submissions.

If anyone on here though has ever been interested in acting in commercials or film I'd be more than happy to help you get started (for free of course) and point you in the right directions.

If anyone has any questions visit the website and/or drop me an e-mail:

mark@enterthelightstudios.com

Only stupid question is the one you don't ask so feel free to ask any questions.

Mark, if you ever need anyone to run the equipment ( technical ) portion, give me a call. Thats what I'm putting to use now, have to find a job in my field. If you ever need extras for something also let me know, I've done a lot of 'extra' parts on short films. Have no problem learning scripts, comes to me like second nature. Later...

Sean, what is TCT?

Eddie, give me a call.

Booby, I mean Bobby, (bad(running)86z28), I caught you watching it 19 times this week alone!

Soft @ss, sorry, not a lot of work like that. Just me running the camera and Jeff doing the editing and computer work.

Anasazi, we don't really film anything to need extras but I can put you in touch with people who scout for agent work, drop me a line.

Trans contenital Talent. The online talent agency that is run by Lou Pearlman for finding talent across the country and the world. you pay for a website and then you pay a monthly fee to keep it running. MIGHTY expensive. Agencies (SUPPOSELY) are the only ones to be able to view the information.

I am not 2 keen on that type of business...

A. It cost something other than the cost of pics and cards
B. WHO calls you if they are interested? Can you trust them?
C. You would think the agency would pay to for the service not taent?
D. they always try to up sell your dreams.

I have had tradition agent for many many years. Granted no big breaks. But I have done some really cool stuff. I know just do it for the cash. maybe 2-3 jobs a year....GO FAST MONEY!! to make it big!?!?!?

FLY TO NY or LA....

Sean, did you even look at our website? We don't offer anything like Trans-Con (actually, it's not considered Trans-Con anymore if you are up on things. It's Wilhemina now and they are getting sued here, LA, and NY).

We just put people's demo reels on cards so they are cheaper to mail and easier to hand out. Lot's of people here don't have demo reels so we film them.

We started just to make networking easier on actors. Lots of agents now want people to have our cards so they can submit them for bigger jobs that our out of the area.

In my post I was offering just to help people get into the business (i.e. tell them what they need, headshots, agents, trade publications, etc... to get started and who the legit people in town are Michael Cairns, Tim Tew, etc...).

If you have an agent and only work a couple times a year it's because you aren't getting out there and getting work. I have 7 agents (Diamond, Arthur Arthur, CFT, Azuree, Berg, etc...) all SAG and if you keep up with them, submit yourself through publications (Florida Bluesheet, Greenroom Orlando, etc...) and go to meetings to network (FMPTA, SAG, etc....) it's pretty easy to work at least once a month (by work I mean being principal on a real shoot, not student films or extra work).

It is very true, if you want to make a living out of it go to LA or New York, especially since Canada opened it's gates with the subsidies then Louissiana took the little business we had left with their tax incentives.

Anyways, please don't put me in the same sentence with TCT.

Anyone who has questions feel free to e-mail me.
