Post Anyone here buy an 02 SOM Z28 and take it back?

I went looking for an 02 Z28 today and found a nice SOM Z28 but it had 19XX miles on it already. They said someone ordered it and took possesion of it then couldn't keep it so they brought it back. They said it wasn't titled yet. It has the windows tinted already but that isnt a problem cause I was going to do that anyway. I think they are giving me a good deal but I am skeptical of it because of the miles. Anyone have any advise or know who bought this car?

If somebody took possession of it for 19xx miles then I'd bet they did title work and had it sold. Should be a used car now with the appropriate depreciation. Next they'll say it was used for demo drives.

Get the VIN for the car and then go to another Chevy dealer and ask them to run the VIN for repair work. If it doesn't show as a lemon and you're happy with the deal then buy it.

Later ... Larry S.

Cool

That doesn't sound so surprising. All I had to do was put $500 cash on mine and they let me take it. I was going through my credit union for financing. It took them 2 weeks to get through all the BS and issue the dealership a check. I imagine if the financing fell through on that one it could already have quite a bit of miles on it before they got it back.

I was surprised that they let me take it home without any communication from the bank. It was on the showroom floor for about 4 hours. Even while I was there working the deal inside, there was a constant trickle of people checking it out. I was so afraid one of them was gonna start offering more for it before I could sign the papers. They really could have bent me over the barrel but they didn't. I recommend Don Mealey/Courtesy Chevy on W Colonial to anyone. Two purchases from them now. Happy with both.
