Anyone have shipping experiance???
Anyone have shipping experiance???
Has anyone had any experiance with a lousy shipper. I need to know what to
do now. The car (not the Miata)was to have been picked up from the other end
in Austin TX on Nov 20 and delivered here in Deland on the 24th or
thereabouts. When they went to pick it up the truck driver was a complete
jerk, never called ahead, and could not take it. Nobody informed me or
rescheduled til I called about 10 times. Then they finally picked it up on
the 8th. Then nothing. I called Tuesday to find out where it was and they
gave me another telephone number. I called it and this guy had no clue what
I was talking about. So I called back again. this went on for most of the
day then someone finally called me back to say the truck broke down and the
car would not be delivered that evening but would be here in the early
afternoon Wednesday. Then nothing. I called Wednesday evening, got more
empty promises. So I called Thursday, several times, with promises given to
me that someone would call back. No calls back. Today I have been calling
all day. The broker--Nationwide auto transport has an answer machine on and
has not answered any calls all day. I called the shipping company and this
guy gives me a "dispatcher" number. I called it and some guy answers and
says wrong number. I call him back and he insists it is the right number.
I call it again and an answer machine picks up. I leave a message. The guy
calls back, extremely angry, because I keep calling after he allready told
me it was the wrong number. I call the other guy back and he tells me it is
the right number again. I insist it is wrong. He says hold on and hangs
up. I call back and he does not answer. I leave a message. Then I call
back again, and he gets nasty with me and tells me he is too busy to bother
with me and hangs up again. I call Nationwide again and still no answer.
So now you have heard me rant. Is there any recourse? Is there a way to
find out where my car is? What authorities do I contact to report it
stolen, or whatever??
Any help at this point would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Anyone have shipping experiance???
has the seller stated they came and got it, so now it's lost in shipping?
how ignorant can you be, and still stay in business?
i've lost a pack of gum for a few days, but i've never lost my car for more than a few minutes.
what do the Cops say?
is reportable as stolen if its lost in shipping?
i HATE doing stuff like that.
i got FLAMED once, a dude had a part for sell across the country, and i asked another bud (who had moved out there) to ride down and pick it up for me. dude got his freak on, made me wonder if he was trying to rip me, he got so mad.
good luck widdit.

Re: Anyone have shipping experiance???
It was picked up, no doubt about it. It is actually a British car restoration shop that I have had dealing with in the past, he says it was picked up last Thursday. I have a ton of people sending emails in referance to it to the shipper/broker. If anyone is so inclined, please do.
Here is an email from a fellow car guy on one of the lists I belong to.
