Anyone have a cutout cap lying around?

I have a 3in exhaust cutout. In moving a couple times the cap has gotten lost, thrown away, etc. I ordered one from Flowtech because I was pretty sure it was a Flowtech model. However, when it got here it wouldn't fit. I don't know if different brands would have different hole patterns for the caps or what. I kind of doubt that to be the case since the flange appears to be modeled after what looks like a standard 3in header collecter(I've put a 3in header collecter gasket on there before). Anyway, just wondering if someone had a spare one lying around that wasn't a Flowtech model. Thanks.

I have one from my old flowtech, you're more than welcome to see if it is any different than the one you have, maybe it will work.

Re: Anyone have a cutout cap lying around?

Hmmm...that might work. I just compared the Flowtech cap I have to a 3in header collector gasket and the cap is 1/2in too big. I've slipped a collector gasket onto the end of my cutout before so I know that that is the perfect shape for the cap I need. Either the flanged end on the Flowtech is just bigger or they sent me a cap that's too big. Though I don't think they make 3.5in exhaust cutouts.

Actually I'm in Ormond so I can't really swing by or anything. I measured the collector gasket "top" to "bottom" it's roughly 4 3/8in, the cap I got is 4 7/8in. If you could measure the one you have(lay it down with one hole at the top and the other two at the bottom on the sides) from directly above the top hole straight down to the bottom of the cap we'll know if it will fit or not. Thanks a bunch.

if you have a cap thats just the wrong size, just elongate (sp) the holes until it fits. should work, maybe not

Re: Anyone have a cutout cap lying around?

Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it.

I have thought about drilling the holes out a little bit, but I don't have the tools to do it. I could take it over to my parent's and show my dad what I need to do though and he might be able to do it. That's sort of become plan b...lol.

Ah ha, the guy at Flowtech answered my e-mail and informed me that they do make a 3.5in cutout cap. I have to check my shipping invoice when I get home, but I think they might have sent me the wrong one.

Checked my invoice and it turns out they sent me the wrong size(3.5 in vs 3in). The one you have that measures the 4 3/8 is the correct size. Do you have any need for it? In other words would it be worth my while to just send this one back for a refund since they originally misshipped my order, and get yours from you?

LOL...so I can get it from you for whatever it would cost to send over to Ormond? I'd really appreciate it. I'll just tell them I'm sending the one I have back. It already took them 2 weeks to get it to me because they originally shipped it to Kentucky.

Not that I'm aware of. I was just there last weekend at Universal, but that doesn't help now...lol.

Edit-Thanks for trying to help. Flowtech e-mailed me and said they would send out a 3in one free of charge since my order has gotten so screwed up. At least I'll end up getting what I originally paid for...lol. Thanks though.
