Post Anyone have a car cd player laying around?

Ok, just to clarify, I'm really, really broke. I was hoping maybe someone had a single din cd player laying around, I don't care how old it is as long as it works. I'm pretty much looking for something I can either do some work for(install something for you) or like $20 or less. I know there is almost no chance, but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask. BTW - this is going in the Honda, because it just has a tape deck and some of the buttons(volume down especially) don't work really well. So anyway, if anyone has one laying around that they just want to get rid of let me know!

I have one at home(down in West Palm). The cd player was pretty moody, meaning, it seemed to only work when it wanted to. My dad is going to be up here this Wednesday coming up. I could ask him to bring it if you want. I would probably just let you have it. Let me know.

Cool, thanks alot Josh! Even if you can't find the wiring harness I can probably just order a new one. Let me know when you find it and everything.

bad86z28- I guess I don't need yours, so thanks for the offer.

That's ok Josh, just see what you can find.

Bad86z28 - If you want to you can go ahead and bring that cd player up(if your dad remembers). I'll probab;y just try to fix that one unless someone else has one. But unless your planning on doing anything else with it I'll go ahead and take it off your hands. Thanks.

Why don't you make up your mind . I'll ask him and keep reminding him to bring it. He's gonna be here on Wednesday, so I should have it by then.

I have an Alpine CD player. I live in Oviedo and could meet you somewhere if you wanted to see it. I could give you a good deal. It is a CDA 7837 with remote, AI net, and sounds real good.

Sorry to hear it must be getting worse. Have you tried to pull the face off and clean the contacts for the volume buttons? It started doing that after I got the car back from sitting under a tarp in my dad's car garden for 2 years. He put a couple bug bombs in it to kill some freaky lookin' spiders that had moved in. I figured it probably just had some residue in there but never got around to checking it out. If you're just gonna discard the radio let me know.

BTW I found the exhaust manifold gaskets for it last week. Let me know if you want them for future repairs. They only costed about $10 anyway, if I remember right.

How's everything else holding up? Good I hope.

6spdws6 - Is it free or do you need cash for it? If so how much? Let me know and I'll get back to you, email me if you want, camride@team.camaroz28.com

Chuck - Besides the radio most everything is fine. And I mostly just want a in dash cd player, I'm tired of hooking up my port cd player to it, it's annoying. Other than that the clutch is really starting to slip so I'm gonna fix that soon, not sure if it needs a new one or just needs to be adjusted. That and there are some damn big roaches living in there, it's gonna need to get bombed again But it's getting close to 35 mpg on average, so I can't complain about that. I am going to rebuild one of the carbs you gave me though because I don't think the second barrel works at all, it will barely rev above 4k. It's just needs a little work. Oh, and I already got new exhaust gaskets, I still have 2 bolts to drill out before that leak will be completely fixed. One side is nice and sealed but the other only has one bolt holding it. I'll get around to it eventually.

I would really like $75 for the the Alpine. I paid $299 for it originally. I don't suppose you have a 64MB video card you would like to trade for it do you? I just got a new game and my 16MB TNT card is not up to the task.

bad86z28 - Did your dad remember to bring the cd player? If not that's ok, don't sweat it.

6spdws6 - If He doesn't have that cd player then I'll probably save up some money and buy that one off you. How old is it, and is there anything wrong with it?
