Do you mean the UCF area?? if you do, you should consider joining up with the CFFB. Goto CFFB.net and look for membership information, its free and fun to participate. As for fbodies around UCF, we got a couple and we're trying to get something organized, but it hasn't been working out lately, lol we need more people to meet up.

I should be going to UCF next spring. I'm milking the credits at VCC. After summer I shoudl have 77 Credits, I'm hoping I will still be able to go durign fall. If not I get a semester off.
But yeah I guess you clould say I'm in the area. There are a couple mothly gatherign s such as MCO at hooters, and a few others I forget. And then you have the UCF/VCC peopel tryign to get a good turn out someday at our BS gatherings
(Thsoe are the best kind)

If I may make a point, there are far better organizations than the CFFB in orlando. The CFFB is a large fun group of people, but their leader is a recluse, and the club has gotten clicky.

Granted, we've been in a state of disorganization since the demise of Waterford. But with some new blood around us, enthusiasm from some new organizers who've risen to help us reorganize the group, and cutting the "dead weight" that has been fluffed onto the membership list for some time, our goal is to resurrect a "Waterford Lakes" type show (which a new, very cool show is in the works that will be as good if not better) and we'd like to get people to show up and participate at events. You have no idea how assinine your statement sounds when I could barely get enough people to help cover the entrance gate when Waterford's show was still going on. People want us to be buddy-buddy and get our opinions on mods, but they don't want to help the club in any other way than to be physically present at the shows we put on. What kind of people are they? Not the kind I wish to associate with. I'm a driven individual and I expect those around me to be as well.
Now, as a part of the team that organized Waterford Lakes up until Dec. '01, I'm trying not to complain - I'm stating fact - but many of those in the CFFB you malign have given a lot of ourselves and our time. For people say that nobody comes up and makes them feel welcome is completely absurd. The fact is we don't even know who these new members are at a show. As far as we know, the people walking by us own a truck or a Mustang or other car we're not even concerned with. Are we clairvoyant? A friend brought up a great point to me... at the dyno at Norris' shop people weren't even mixing it up and we were all there!! The Lethal Injection guys were there, and I spoke with some of them for a short while. It's not easy to have a quality, in-depth conversation with a someone you I've just met. Come up to us and say more than "hi, I'm [insert name here]". Have questions. Seek answers. Know your stuff. Otherwise, expect the conversation to fizzle and we're going to return to our friends with whom we can have more than a "hello how are you" type of conversation.
And also realize that those of us who've been with the CFFB since its inception are getting to be old friends now. We've known each other for 4-5 or so years, since the club was founded. We're also seasoned at the "car show" game. We show up, set up shop, polish up the cars, take a look around and then we return to our cars, tents, chair, etc. When the WLTC show was on, I couldn't make a trip to the bathroom in less than an hour because of the amount of people I stopped to talk to. And I got paged at least a half-dozen times a night to the DJ booth to meet new people or give out information.
Someone recently said to me... "if you're old enough to drive and show up at a car show then you should be man/woman enough to strike up a conversation with people. The fact that they show up and walk around and speak to nobody (since they're not near their own car) doesn't make the club a bad organization. All of us take the time to walk around at a show and look at the cars. We stop and ask questions and talk to people as the need arises but most of these new folks have no mods and nothing in particular to talkabout." And many of them have no idea what they want to do with the cars yet. I guess this harks back to my statement about being clairvoyant... People need to make an effort - not just the administrative team.
Guys, I moved to Orlando in spring of '01 and stumbled upon the CFFB club website while browsing the internet in summer of '02. I read the details on the club and their events and became immediately interested in joining. So, I attended their regular monthly club gathering where I was immediatley accepted into the group without question. All it took was for me to introduce myself to several members and the rest is history. The knowledge, acceptance, and friendship of the group is absolutely amazing.
My wife and I are now moving back to the Kansas City area and one of the things I'll miss the most about central Florida is being a member of the CFFB.
It's important that everyone participate in making a club function - that's what fuels the excitement, friendships, and multiplies the fun-factor.

There's also a club I'm in.. Fuel ****.
You can check us out at http://www.fuelslut.com
Or, you can stop by the corner downtown where we hang out on weekends. (Orange & 50)
The club isn't FBodies only, but all Domestic Muscle.

The CFFB used to be a lot worse than it has been lately. I remember way back when I had my 88 GTA, it seemed that for the most part they were not interested in me or my car. There were people there that did nothing but complain about everyone else and it was pretty uncomfortable. I have not seen most of the complainers in quite some time and with the Waterford show I was able to get to know a lot of the guys a little better. They welcome you to their homes for picnics, even though they have no idea who you are, they welcome you to their events, again haveing no idea who you are. I am not the type of person that will always get out there and try to meet people (especially with my wife with me because she hates the car anyway) but over the years I have met and hung out with some great people. Hell, I had people I never met at my house helping me install clutches, rear ends, headers (twice), breaking things(oops did I say that) etc. If that is what *******s do then I want to meet more.
Yes there are some people there that think their **** doesn't stink, but for the most part they are just car guys.

I dont think there is anythign wrong with CFFB. I jsut got my car a few months ago, and came accros the club. I might have missed some of the thigns you guys are talkign about, but as far as I have been arround them, I was always treated with respect, and never given a cold shoulder.
Sure it did have its down time for a little while, but sometimes peple have other things in life to take care of that makes running a club and forum very dificult. But int he last few months I have seen a great deal of improvement as far as involvement goes.
I dotn get many chances to actualy go to soem of the events and get togethers with most of them, but when I was at the cookout a few weeks ago, I had a great time. Haviogn not been to many events before I was still new, and had not met most of the peopel there. But that changed pretty quick as I started ot introduce my self.
Like Roger said, in order to make any club great, there has to be effort from both sides.

"Downtime" is an understatement. Career moves have kept me busy since the summer of 2001, and I still managed to code the latest site from scratch somewhere in between. The current website has become a living document (I have some cool new stuff coming, too) and the rest of the CFFB admin team can now help me administrate, update and change it. Until recently, I was the only one who could make any changes to the site. That is no longer the case... our response times should improve dramatically.
Those who hang around our message board know that all you need to do to get a response from us is email one of the board admins or go to the main site and email one of us in the contact section.
We're trying, guys... just be patient with us. When the new show comes through, I'm hoping we'll rally as a group again and get back to doing what we used to do together.
