Re: 98 Z28 Fs

Still for sale. I was offered $4800, but I really need a little more. Nobody has shown yet, even though I have had 4 people say they would be here. All no shows. Not sure why. Strange.

Re: 98 Z28 Fs

Had another guy say he was coming to look yesterday, but AGAIN, never showed. Hey guys this car is nice. If someone has cash and can actually show up I will do the whole deal for $5000 including tax and tag(if transfering, new tag will be $140 more).

You wont beat that deal.

Please dont call or email and say you are coming and not show up. I take time away from my family to wait for you. Please dont do that to me. I have the car advertised everywhere else at $6000. On BS here, just a great deal on a great car, so please dont bs me.

I have to move all my cars and trucks fast because I am going to Louisana to help in the clean up and will be gone for a long while. I wont be able to run things from there, so I am selling off all the cars that are left for what I have in them or less.

Thanks guys, Hopefully someone will buy it.

Re: 98 Z28 Fs

Yeah that Miata was a money pit. By the time it was all over I was lucky enough to only lose about $1000 on it. Project cars are never a good idea. You can always buy one for the same price or less than a fixer upper will cost in the end. And you have to deal with the headaches. BUT I never learn. I have more toys/projects all over.

I just got a high bidder on ebay and a winner on the 98. So hopefully he buys it. I am selling off everything for whatever I can to clear the lot. Ebay is always a hit or miss deal though. About 80% of high bidders on cars never follow through.

Thanks again
John

Re: 98 Z28 Fs

thought you traded the miata for a nice TR6?

e-bay is tough, i just lost $45 (listing fee) on this pig:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4575945578

it's worth 21,500 on trade, and hits only 17?
maybe the hurricane interrupted it?
gonna drive it a few weeks, if no one steps up, trade it on some other toy.

luck with the Z, and God Bless you man, for going to help.
pray and BE CAREFUL.
chain & lock everything down. take home the tools you went with.

if i get some $$ ahead, i'll paypal you some gas/lunch money, ok?

Re: 98 Z28 Fs

Actually I traded it for a GT6, but all said and done, when we sold the GT6 we ended up with about $1000 deficit. Like I said, I never learn. I just restored a TR8 to nice driver status, putting about $10,000 into it. Then I went out before rebuilding the brakes and wrecked it the other night. So I figure I need the break from the car thing anyway. I am getting together with a 4 man crew to go to New Orleans(or maybe someplace else now) We are still trying to find another guy, but my buddy from Naples just told me he would go. Not the most reliable guy, so I guess we shall see. All expenses will be paid through some unknown source at this point, so no help is needed yet. There again, we shall see.

Business has been completeley dead since Katrina, so there is no sense sitting around here doing nothing when we can help instead. Maybe when we get back I can make up some of my losses and continue on. Either that or I will be looking for a job.

Wish me luck.

Re: 98 Z28 Fs

Post up if the eBay deal falls through. I sent a guy I work with to your lot, he went in the evening after work and said he didn't see the car there. I gave him your #, but I guess he never called.

I tried...

Re: 98 Z28 Fs

He called and said he was going to come. I had the car at the house so I told him to call before he came out so I could tell him where to meet me and he never did.

I appreciate it though. This guy that won the auction is a dealer in Mississippi, and made offers on a couple other cars. He needs cars, and his feedback is great for buying cars. I am pretty sure he will be getting it.

Thanks again
John

Re: 98 Z28 Fs

Signed sealed and delivered along with a couple other cars. Dealer from Mississippi came down and bought a couple cars. I cant beleive it took so long to sell it.

As is typical, I got about 10 calls since he picked it up ready to pay asking price. They all knew it would sell fast at that price. That is what they told me. Then when I tell them I had it for almost 2 months they cant believe it.

Anyway it is gone.

Thanks for everyones interest.
