Talking 3.42's are in.

Finished up around 1pm today. Not too bad of a job, I got really lucky with the shims and the contact pattern was perfect on the first try. I briefly drove around the block and it seems nice & quiet. Much tighter than the old gears and carrier. Best of all, no more pinion seal leak!

Question

Can you feel a big difference over your old 2.73s?

Hell yes, I can actually use overdrive around town. I've been flooring it a bunch trying to get the shift points right w/ the HPP3 - yet my gas mileage doesn't seem to be any different. It hits 2nd a lot harder too. All of my upshifts feel a lot more positive. I had to take it apart to fix the annoying pinion seal leak - so why not throw in some steeper gears while I'm in there?
