2000 SS possible part out

A friend has a "totalled" 2000 white SS. Front end huged an oak tree. He was wanting to sell the LS1/T56 combo (it runs fine) as a unit. Then he may part out the remainder of the car. He has a regular title (not salvage title) so it could be rebuilt, but the body is a little tweaked.

Some possible parts that are in good shape include the following:

3 10 spokes (fourth is slightly bent at the rim, possible fix) with tires
Black leather seats
SS wing is ok, the hood is no good
The brakes (and spindles/rotors) look ok
And all the other parts

He is not sure what he wants to do, so I am throwing this out there to see what local interest is there.

He would probably want what most salvage yards are asking as far as price goes. Maybe a little cheaper (and a lot closer).

If it is not a TCS car then I would be interested in the rear end and possibly the front brakes. How many miles are on the car?

Dibs on driver's seat, Kmember, Y pipe (if same as 2002), and maybe the whole car depending on price. Oh what I could do... I see a 67 GTO with LS1 and a T56...

Oh yeah!

hey predator the rear will work, but the rear brakes are going to be a little to big you can upgrade the front to ls1s, or jsut leave as is, someone did an LS1 on a 93-97 car and it worked, its jsut not the brake setup.

Probably be Thursday when I see him again. I'll take a closer look to see what shocks it has. The interior is dusty but in good shape. Both airbags deployed so I am not sure if the steering wheel is wanted.

Like I said. I keep looking here and check on the car this Thursday to answer some of the questions that have been asked.

He said that if someone gave him 6800 firm they can come and take the whole car. If not then he may still part it out.
