confused :( (rear brakes)
confused :( (rear brakes)
i am puttin on new pads and the new pads wont go over rotor....so i can re-bolt up the thing that holds the break pads (not wide enuf gap) have piston compressed, the back pad isnt what is holding me up, its the pad closest to the outside...
had the same prob with last set of brakes
although its not a proper techniq i had to grind me e-brake lever rod just a little to give me the clearence needed pay attention to how it operates so youdont mess it up
guess some aftermarket pads are a little thicker

i also had the same problem but i realized i was trying to put the caliper on the wrong way. the bolt goes through the mount and then the caliper if you understand what i'm saying. the caliper does not go over the mount. it goes in between the mount and the rotor. hopefully you understood what i meant heh
Use a c-clamp to make sure the piston is completely compressed and also that the caliper bracket is slid out as wide as it will go. Brand new pads and a new rotor are a tight fit.
Yeah, what Shoebox said. With the old pad, put a c-clamp over the whole thing, where the piston is, and slowly turn it in. I have heard doing it too fast may bust a brake line, but I don't know if thats true. Good luck.
