300 RWHP possible with stock cam and stock heads?

So far I have the mods in my sig.

I am thinking 1.6 Pro Mag rocker arms, nice valve spings, electric water pump, hiflow cat, thats about all the bolt ons I can think of right now (I know some people dont say RR's are a bolt on, but hey)

So could that put me at 300+ rwhp?? I don't think thats too high of a goal for all those mods. I want to see what I can do before going internal with a cam and heads. The car is a 93 Z A4 3.23

Any opinions?

Its fairly easy, you will probably make more than 300. My friend has a 95 Trans Am, Edelbrock Headers, gutted cat, pulleys, ram air, flow master, he made 287 at the wheels.

1 word.....absolutely!!

I just dynod mine today...

278 rwhp with a Moroso CAI, Granatelli MAF, TPIS Airfoil, March crank pulley, & Borla catback.

its also running pig rich.

still have stock short block, stock heads, stock cam, stoxk intake and stock manifolds( with functional cats)..

Comp Pro Magnum 1.6's and new pushrods are my next mod, then LT's with no cats .

In a word.....Yes. My car is a perfect example of it. Last Sept. I dynoed 300RWHP, 318RWTQ. The year before at a different dyno it did 305RWHP, 320RWTQ. Check my sig. and it's emissions legal too.

I see you have an A4, might be a bit harder for you to reach the 300RWHP mark that you wish but it can be done even with your higher %age of driveline loss.

Here's the chart to last year's dyno session:

good luck with your goal!!

Thanks for the input.

Jordon, your car is an M6 correct? What did your full exhaust setup consist of? And you only had exhaust and intake for 309 rwhp?? No other mods??

It sounds like I can do this. Even though I don't have longtubes, my AS&M's are 1.75" so that is a plus

Isn't the A4 drivetrain loss about 16% or so?

Generally, stick cars are around 12-15% loss, autos 18-20%, and you don't need LT's to reach your goal, what you have now for exhaust should be fine.

I had a friend put down 319.5 with full exhaust, pulley, water pump, and 1.6 rockers on a 96 ram air m6.

Most M6 cars with full exhaust and intake put down real close to 300 RWHP if not over depending on how strong the car is. I'm getting my car dynoed April 12th and I'm hoping for atleast 290 RWHP. Of course 300 RWHP would be nice . You will prolly need some roller rockers to hit 300 RWHP with an A4. Just my $.02.

I'm putting in an LT4 Hotcam w/ 1.6RR's... I was kinda hoping for about 310rwhp w/ that... I haven't dynoed my car w/ bolt-ons only though. I think A4 cars do not dyno well.

My brothers 96 T/A M6 w/4.10 gears, SLP shorties, Air Foil, Under drive pulleys, SLP CAI, put down 287rwhp. I think the gears make the numbers lower.
Dyno run is in this kick-*** video,
