When your number one piston is at TDC, your top sprocket should be at 6 and bottom sprocket at 12. 12 and 12 would be 180 degrees out. Unless you got somethin goin that I am not aware of?

im not asking how to align the timing marks if thats what youre thinking. its so i could adjust my rockers. i adjusted them like that, thinking #1 TDC was 6 and 12. but one things for sure, shoebox aint never wrong im pretty sure hes right cause the lifters on the #1 cyl are at the bottom of their travel now that its at 12 and 12. right or worng? thanks.

When the cam sprocket is at 6 and the crank sprocket is at 12 and you install the opti, which can only go on one way, the rotor will be firing #6 cylinder.
Shoebox is correct.

That is what a lot of people think. That is #6 TDC. The 12 and 6 arrangement is merely a convenient and visually easy way to line up the dots to get the cam and crank in phase.

As Slashz28 found out with the cam sprocket at 12, the #1 lifters are now on the base of the lobes. That's the proof.
