Oil on a plug...Low Oil Presssure?? Whats going on!?

http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...threadid=90543

Cylinder 2 plug is gettin oil on it making car run like ****, and the oil pressure is lower then usaul. My questions is: What can cause a oil to get on a plug and can it be related to a low oil pressure. What could cause the two thiings? Where to start checking.
Thanks
Marcin

I would think if your rings were bad this would cause your plugs to get oil on them. As for your oil pressure being low the rings wouldn't cause that. I don't think anyway.
I'll be watching this thread for more lern'n...

What is you oil pressure reading?

the ONLY way i can think of is valve seal or something like that-
dripping oil and fouling the plug-

heres dective treys story:

your giving it losts of gas in th burn out- suddenly close the TB and there is a lot of fuel in there now. you probobly did this a few times - possibly in conjuction with old/ tired plugs.

a valve seal is ripped/got ripped ( ) somehow (since you rev to the MOON with that cam anything is possilbe and should have gotten an Xe cam j/k man ) and also leaked on the plugs causing further ignition problems...

wait this doesn't explain the lack oil pressure

ok-

hmm...

maybe a problem with an internal component like bearing/lifter. ran around, and can explain oil pressure- and ripped the valve seal. Maybe even scored the cyl walls and therefore oil got up when there was no combustion (due to fouled plugs are per theory one) covering the plug in oil??

hmm i suck a this detective gig. I'm going back to sharpe markers and ****. but maybe its somewhere to start. try taking off the valve covers for further investigation

there only two ways oil can get in (well barring cracked blocks and crazy stuff)
through the heads (valve seals or something) or the piston rings-

yeah, that didn't help much
half way through each theory i was like ... no wait...
ok ok, this is what-- no wait.........ok here how it went do- ohh never mind.

I think the lack of starting is from fouled plugs and oil can only gen in there so many ways....
usually valve seal or piston ring

Yeah I suggest doin a comp test on all cylinders and if that one is lower than the others well then most likely its a ring.

that doesn't explain the burning oil-
and if he added a quart he should be fine.... until he stops hard or turns hard... the pressure wiill drop

i have the same issue on my 93. the no 2 plug is oiled down everytime i check it. i thought it was a bad valve seal... but i replaced the valve seals when i put the 1.6 rockers on... but it's still doing it, and to top it off the car only has 25k miles on it, hard to believe there is a ring problem, but that's sure what i'm beginning to think.
