XE 224/230 112lsa??

Im thinking about going to this cam and replacing the one i am currently running. The cam i have right now is the TPIS ZZ9 212/226 with .515/.555 lifts @.50 with 112 lsa. I installed this cam when i virtually had no mods and was very pleased with the performance from it. I am wondering with the mods i now have if you guys think it would be worth switching to the XE 224/230 with .535/544 112lsa.....with the mods i have listed below do you think this cam will produce a lot more power, no enough to worry about or less?

I have no need to pass emissions and want the car to be streetable, retuning will be done.

I must mention that along with the mods i have below i am running stock 3.07 gears. From what i can tell i think its not to radical of a cam?? but im not sure if i will see much improvement. Anyone with experience w/ a change like this? Thanks for any help.

When I spoke to Seth at combomotorsports he mentioned my car will perform a bit better once I get my 3.73's and bump my stall up to about 3200rpm.. but will be just fine for the time being. The gears and stall will put the car in a better powerband for launching at the track (which is very important to me..)

you will likely have to upgrade springs too. i will be putting that same basic cam in (just a 110 LSA) a couple of weeks or as soon as it arrives at my door 2 weeks from now! but if you are looking for 30 rwhp gain or more... you should look into something larger or heads with a cam. personally i wouldnt go thru the trouble of swapping cams if i didnt make at least 30 rwhp peak.

Nah my springs are good til .600.....i wish i could do gears as cheap as you guys mine are 400 for a good set, damn dana 36 A4 cars, and then close to that to have them installed. I would try doing them myself but im afraid of gettin a whine if i dont have them adjusted up right (of which i have no experience with). These damn 3.07s just are not what i should be running i think.

You might find that going from 3.07's to 3.73's with the Vig & new cam to create a real traction problem. I would try the cam first, and see how you like it. If you need a little more low end power, make sure the cam is set at 107-108 degrees on the centerline of the intake . The cam might already be ground that way to start with.

Traction problems are already what im having, even with the Nitto D/R i have on there right now. But i think switching to 3.73s from 3.07s would help me everywhere right? not jus off the line? Right now what i really need is more midrange power/accel, from like 3,000 to 4,500.

Most likely you will loose a little lowend going to the XE 224/230 cam, and with 3.07's it will feel like a dog most likely on the bottom end. The cam isnt that big compared to yours, so I would think 15rwhp could be gained over your current setup. I would go with a 3000 stall. Stall will give you the biggest results. JMO.
