Just RR's and no cam!

How many people here have or had RR's without a cam first? Were the gains noticeable from the 1.6 RR's? What kind are most people running in there LT1's?

Here in the next 6 months, Im gonna be putting the XE comp cam in my car. I was considering putting the new pushrods, RR's, and a few other things before I did the cam install. I just want to know how much hp you can gain from the 1.6 RR's. I have heard they are worth 10-15hp.

They will give you a little more top end power, and I believe they are worth about 10 hp. There are people that run them with the stock cam, some argue they are bolt ons, some dont, but if you do them now, it shouldnt hurt anything, just make sure your stock springs still have the correct amount of pressure so you dont get valve float in the upper rpm's.

Well, Im gonna replace the valve springs when i put the RR's in. I know people that say they have gained a .1 or .2 on their ET's.

i did springs and RRs a few weeks ago. 2 weeks from now the cam will go in. just doing springs was big chore and i think everyone should break it up like i did so you can appreciate the benefits of new springs and RRs and then the cam itself. and yes i did feel a difference!
