needed some gaskets so i called up jason today and got everything i needed for a cam install for $36 when thunder racing wanted $84 for practically the same thing in a kit. as long as that guy is around ill never pay full price for a factory part again!
For you peeps that don't know, when you walk in to a dealer parts dept, you pay list price (unless you know someone that will cut you a deal). If you have a shop or business, you get the wholesale price which is nearly half of list in a lot of cases.
Jason and Dal sell for wholesale plus whatever their dealership tacks on to do business.
When you take your car to some shop to get it fixed, if they need factory parts, they go to the dealer and buy them at the wholesale price. When you pick up your car and pay up, your ticket has the LIST price of the part. So the shop makes money on the part without doing anything. Then, of course, they charge you labor to install which is usually equal or more than the part costs.
Makes you want to open a shop doesn't it?
