Passenger side tail lights not working.

Hello! First post. Sorry in advance if this should be somewhere else. I've recently bought a 95 Z28 and Im having a problem with the passenger side tail lights not working. The left side works just fine. Im not getting any power to the sockets on the right side. Ive traced all wires up under the dash and Im still not getting power to them there. Is there a fuse or a switch that Im missing here. Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to CamaroZ28.com ! ! !

Don't know if you have the wiring diagrams for your 95. Shoebox has a copy of the main rear light diagram:

1995 4th Gen F-Body Exterior Lights

That refers you to page 8A-110-4 in the factory manual, and I didn't see that on Shoebox - maybe I missed it. You can find that in the free download of the factory manual here:

https://www.mediafire.com/?40mfgeoe4ctti

See page 2973 on that file (8A-110-4)

The "A" and "B" circuits shown on Shoebox's diagram are the only wires that are separate for left and right side, starting at the turn/hazard switch, and they only feed the center bulb for tail/stop/turn. All the other tail lights (inner and outer on both sides) are supplied power by a single +12V line from the front of the car, and split at splice S400 at the rear panel of the car.

Good luck.. wiring problems can be nasty.

Looking at the schematic. From the turn right indicator, the drk green wire goes back to the right tail lights. Im not getting any power on that wire from under the dash back.

Are you having trouble with all the lights on the right side or just the tail lights? You mentioned tail lights above, but the dark green wire controls the turn signal. You wouldn't have voltage on the green wire unless the turn signal switch was activated. The brown wire is the tail light. Probably wouldn't hurt to verify you a have ground at the light sockets.

Im not getting any of the tail lights on the passenger side. Brake, Turn, or reverse. I checked the turn signal by turning the signal on and probing the dark green wire. All of the drive side tail lights are working perfectly.

The dark green wire controls only the stop/brake/hazard lights to the right rear. The backup light would only have the ground in common with the stop/brake/hazards, so if both sockets have continuity to ground, you probably have two separate issues. Does the right turn signal indicator in the dash come on when the switch is activated? Do both front and rear hazard lights work when turn on? These checks should help verify if the turn signal switch is operating properly and the problem is a broken wire between the switch and the lights in rear.

When you switch the turn signal switch to the right turn position the indicator on the dash comes on but it's a solid light. I haven't checked the hazards yet. Our mechanic at work said he would put money on the switch.

Also didn't think to check the hazards so I'll be checking those probably tomorrow when I get back in.

The fact that dash indicator comes on tends to make me think the switch is operating. Have you probed the dark green wire at the base of the steering column to see if voltage is present when the switch is activated with the ignition in the on position? Another option would be to unplug the harness connector at the column and check continuity between the dark green and dark blue wires coming from the switch. With a meter connected, you should be able to see the contacts opening and closing.
