2000 Firebird Formula LS1 - NHRA package RARE - $3500

I recently picked up a 2000 Formula NHRA edition that I am willing to turn for a quick few bucks, or I'll make it real nice over winter and sell it in spring. Figured I'd post it here to see if there were any takers.

From 2000 - 2002 Firebirds and trans Am had a special NHRA package that was released. About 895 were produced in the 3 years. The package consists basically of some badges, and a power steering cooler which later came standard on all the 2002 LS cars anyway. in 2000, 215 NHRA firebirds were produced of which only 97 were Formula models. The cars came in a few select colors - white, black, red, or pewter. The VIN is blasted/etched into all the glass on the car as well, and the special RPO code is in the glove box "1SH" - the option added about $1000 to the sticker price of the vehicle.

2000 Formula LS1 - NRHA package
92,000 miles
black
auto
hard top
cloth
many power options
3.23 gears (another NHRA standard)

The car is in FAIR conditions and needs some reconditioning to be in GOOD condition. This car is best suited to someone who does their own body/paint work, and doesn't mind scouring the internet for used parts.

Blue book value on a regular 2000 Formula in FAIR condition with 92k, is $6734, GOOD condition is $7484. - I'm ONLY asking $3500, so don't beat me up here, my asking price is about half the blue book value. Plus this has the "rarity factor"

Here are the bad things:

-needs mud in the quarters and paint
-needs two new fenders and paint
-front bumper has crack, could probably be panel bonded and saved.
-car was tweaked in the front drivers fender and so the headlamp binds when you try to put it down, fuse has been pulled so the headlamps stay up. the damage that I can tell under the fender is some basic slide-hammer type work and could be pulled out fairly easily (body lines are all still great)
-interior is pretty good
-has monsoon system but some of the speakers may be blown (power antenna is bad)
-needs wheels, tires are not great, and the chrome is bubbling
-passenger side rack and pinion has a leak, and the power steering is not great (i have a rack and pinion that you could have to install)
-passenger door has some light damage and could easily be ground out and filled, then painted. (i also have a passenger door in black that you could have that is in perfect condition)
-paint has overspray all over it, would need the clay bar, and then a good wet-sand/buff
-needs muffler, muffler is completely missing.
-windshield is cracked and should be replaced

The car mechanically runs great, starts great, engine sounds good. I've driven it about 125 miles and it was flawless on the freeway. You could buy this car, stick a grand into it in paint/parts collected from LS1tech, and have a VERY nice collectable LS1 Firebird.

If I get no interest, the car will be my winter project and will be for sale in the early spring for probably around $7000

Vehicle is located in Far southeastern Wisconsin and can be shown mostly any day of the week.
