Losing All Electrical Power

Hi. I have a 96 V6 camaro and randomly lose all electrical power when driving. It will shut off the engine, radio, lights, etc then come back on. I have a code reader and am reading P1441 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Flow During Non Purge. I have also previously gotten the code P1406 EGR Valve Pintle Position Circuit. Could either of these be attributed to the car shutting off? I checked for loose connections, such as grounds from the battery but couldn't find any.

Re: Losing All Electrical Power

I had a battery that would act like it was dead and the connections looked good. I found they had a film or something on them and after cleaning the terminals it fixed the problem. It only did it after going over a bump and made the connection go out for a second. The terminals were a little loose and I guess thats what caused the film. The battery also would not charge much and kept needing a jump. Make sure all the connections like the starter and alternator are all tight and good. I feel pretty confident in saying those codes should not cause the issues you mention.
