An lot of people simply push the needles down to hard. Remove them again and when putting them on be gentle.

If it just your gas gauge, fill your tank up and adjust it based on that.

Dotn forget that our cars have crappy gas gauges. On my car, when I fill up it goes all the way up past the F mark, and the bottom 1/2 tank = 1/4 tank, and the top part seems to be evenly divided (the extra 1/4 comes from the extra space that is passes).

So if his guages was liek this to begin with, it wont fix the prob.

I would think that you could use a scan tool for the guages.

For the speedo, you will have to have somebody pace you. Once you have your speedo locked in, you can leave the car in 3rd and bring it up to 70mph. At 70mph, your tach should read the same as your rear end gearing (ie your 3:73's equal 3730 rpms).

Good luck, Adam M.

to fix...

speedometere gauge. drive around the block and pull back into your driveway. place the needle on 0 mph. you must drive atleast 1/2 a mile for this to work (what I had to do when I got my white face gauges).

rpm gauge. let the car warm up some. you remember how long it took for your car to warm up? wait that long and fix the engine temp gauge and set the rpm gauge to what it used to say when you was sitting at idle before the new white face gauges.

oil gauge. I would just let your car sit for about 30 seconds and place the oil gauge needle right in the middle, mine is about a quarter of an inch below that so you should be fine.

gas gauge. fill up your car, and place the needle a little SHORT of an EXTRA 1/4 tank of gas. (imagine you have 5/4 of gas in your car, which is more then a full tank. then just put the needle a little SHORT of that mark).

Good Luck!

When you turn the ignition to accesories(do not start)all the needles raise just slightly off the resting pins.

Start there and you should be very close.Didn't the directions tell you to turn key to acces. and mark the bezel with some masking tape and an arrow which points to the tip of the needle? Then all you would have to do when installing was:turn key to acces.,line up tip of needle to arrow and install!

Good luck.

That was a VERY frustrating day for me I did the pace thing with my GF new Jetta and would drive a little while on the phone talkign and adjust then drive a little. The rest I used a scanning program for the RPMs
