Unhappy hope this is not the opti.....(Hesitation at hot water temp)

the hestitation happen only when the car is hot?? because mine is doing that......on my when my car is hot. it will do some crazy stuff, like if you press it at WOT, it will launch hard for a second or two, then it has no power for about another second or two, then the power came back (WTF)....i hope it's the plugs/wires or the O2, because Opti's cost is damn expensive

sounds like something is loose IMO. When was the last time you replaced your plug wires?

When my car was running hot (230-240) it would stumble and miss a few times a day. Since I've got it running cooler (T-Stat and HPP for fans) she hasn't missed a beat.

Hey man, it sounds just like my car when I had split BLM's because of exhaust leaks. It would run fine cold (open loop) when it warmed up (closed loop) it did exaclty what you said. To see if this is your problem unplug one of your o2 sensors and it will stay in open loop and should run fine. Go try it out.

Rodrigues:

Mordant:

i've been meaning to buy a HPP, but it cost too much...i'm thinking about sending my PCM to PCMforless.com??

Shankels94TA:

where's the O2 sensor located?? do you have any pic that make this clearer?? i'm all for some cheap solutions

thanks guys

You can find the o2 locations here. http://csce.uark.edu/~jgbertr/rb/ho2.jpg
you can just reach up there and unplug one from the harness, you don't need to remove the o2 itself
Also go with PCMforless, its cheaper and the HPP sucks anyway

Opti

Sounds like the opti to me. My 94 ran great cold, after about 15 minutes it would start stumbling and missing. My tach needle was bouncing up erradically. Eventually (after 3 months of this) it began having trouble starting. New opti- solved problem.

Just my experience. Good luck.

it doesn't hurt anything to run with o2 unplugged, you just may lose some MPG and a little driveablity (I can't notice because of lopey cam). Did it work for you?

will running with o 2 disconnected cause any dash light to come on or send trouble codes? I have a 94 z m6. My missing turned out to be plugs, but my speedo was not acting funny and no lights came on.
